o you sometimes wish you lived with more boldness? Boldness – moving forward with conviction in spite April 29 - Craig Goodrich of fear, personal to preach risk, hardship, or opposition. All of us want more boldness, don’t we? Of course, the Bible is full of stories of boldness, of people who move by God’s power from fear to a holy boldness. A great example is the account of the disciples Peter and John who are jailed and called before the Temple authorities for healing a lame man in the name of Jesus (Acts 3-4). The text says: “Now when [the authorities] saw the boldness of Peter and John and realized that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were amazed and recognized them as companions of Jesus.” (Act 4: 13).
What about you? Do you need more boldness in your life and in your faith? And would people recognize you as a companion of Jesus? Take a bold step this week. Be open to the Spirit and God’s power. And come to worship this Sunday. The sermon is entitled, “A Time for Boldness.”
Faithfully Yours,
Craig
