+Prayer of Confession (In Unison)

Tony Sundermeier

Rob Sparks Merciful God, you have written your covenant not on tablets of stone but on the tablets of our hearts. Yet we confess that too often, your word remains external to us— heard but not heeded, read but not received. We cling to old patterns and resist the new thing you are doing in our midst. We prefer the safety of certainty to the risk of transformation. Forgive us, O God, for hearts that harden, for words that do not witness, for lives that fail to bear testimony to your grace. By your Spirit, inscribe your truth within us again. Shape our hearts to know you, our minds to love you, and our lives to proclaim you— until all may see in us the living testimony of your covenant love. Amen.

(Time of Silent Confession)

+Assurance of Pardon

One: Hear the promise of God: “This is the covenant I will make: I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.” Friends, in Jesus Christ, the new covenant is fulfilled. We are forgiven, renewed, and called to live as God’s testimony in the world. Believe the Good News of the Gospel! All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Alleluia! Amen!

Blessed art thou, Lord our God, King of the universe, who hast sanctified us with thy commandments and hast been pleased with us; thou hast graciously given us thy holy Sabbath as a heritage, in remembrance of the creation. The Sabbath is the first among the holy festivals which recall the exodus from Egypt.
