A

s we celebrate Disability Awareness Sunday on April 15, the theme will be “Can You Hear Me Now?”, focusing our attention on April 15 - George Wirth hearing loss and to preach ways that we can work together on that widespread disability. The statistic is staggering- 36million Americans suffer from some kind of hearing loss, which means 1 in 16 of us across the country. It will be our great privilege to welcome three professional leaders in this field – Dr. Helena Solodar, a physician and audiologist, together with Jeff Bonnell and Anne Taylor, both of who are directors and coordinators of the Georgia chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America. During the 10:00 Sunday School hour, they will be conducting a workshop/ seminar and a screening program for all those who would like to participate. We are grateful to the Disability Awareness Committee, chaired by Mrs. Randy Harris, for making preparation for this special annual disability awareness celebration, and I look forward to seeing all of you in your usual pews on this Sunday after Easter. The Lord is risen – He is risen indeed!
