I know not where the road will lead I follow day by day, Or where it ends: I only know I walk the King’s highway. I know not if the way is long, and no one April 17 & 24 George Wirth to preach else can say: But rough or smooth, up hill or down, I walk the King’s highway.

And some I love have reached the end, but some with me may stay, Their faith and hope still guiding me, I walk the King’s highway.

The people who heard Jesus were repeatedly amazed.

Are we today so sophisticated that we are immune to amazement?

Can we know that he was crucified, Goodness and Compassion and Love nailed upon the tree, and go about our business of preparing Easter dinner?

Can we know that he arose from the dead and walked the earth and ate and spoke with his followers and sit unamazed in the pew as though we cannot hear the WORD OF GOD? O God of Jesus the Christ, the amazing thing is our lack of amazement in the face of your AMAZING GRACE!

s we take our final steps on the road toward Easter, these words remind us where we have traveled this Lenten season and who we are as fellow pilgrims. The journey has been long, but the destination is now in sight. As we make our way toward Holy Week, let us prepare our hearts and homes to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ! The Palm/Passion Sunday sermon is entitled “The Beatitudes: Blessed Are The Peacemakers, For They Will Be Called The Children Of God.” So please come join us for our worship celebration!!”

WHATWE’REREADING The Mustard Seed A new edition of the sold-out First Presbyterian history, A Church on Peachtree, will be hot off the presses in time for the annual congregational meeting on May 1. Thanks to the generosity of the estate of the late Sam Inman, a copy of the book will be given free to each First family immediately after the meeting. Those who miss the meeting can pick up their free books during regular store hours on Sundays or Wednesdays in the Mustard Seed through Labor Day weekend. Additional copies will be available for $10.

Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 23, 2011 11:00 – Winn Park (in Ansley Park neighborhood)

11:15 AM - Class will worship together in Sanctuary and receive gifts and share a litany!

5:30-6:30 PM – Students and Family and Friends are invited to dinner for introductions to the Session and Staff.

NOTE: We need 10-12th Grade Youth to introduce the Confirmation Students to the Session. Please sign up with Alan Dyer.

6:30-7:30 PM – Worship and Communion in the Sanctuary – This is when the students make their public profession of faith and join the church. Students will also be leading the worship service.

OLDER YOUTH STEPHEN MINISTRY CLASS CONCLUDES APRIL 17.

The Older Youth Stephen Ministry Class will conclude with the final topic, Addictions. Mr. Craig Elam will meet with us to discuss this important topic.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 and the class meet over lunch.

EASTER SUNDAY – YOUTH HOST MT. KENYA ACADEMY STUDENTS APRIL 24 EASTER Sunday we will host the Mt. Kenya Academy Students. We will serve at the Homeless Breakfast, then go to Waffle House for breakfast and fellowship, then attend Youth Contemporary Worship and Sanctuary Worship.

On April 24th, Jack and Judy Talley will give a short 30-minute program on Emmett Fox’s book “The Sermon On The Mount -- The Beatitudes”, a very well thought out, simple synopsis of Jesus’ teachings.

The Annual Giving Campaign announces “March Manna.”
