O

nce again we will Remember! Celebrate! and Act! on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. during our Urban Ministry weekend. This year’s theme is “You Are Being Called...How January 20 - Dr. Joan Brown Will you Answer”? In Campbell to preach the scripture reference found in Galatians 3:28 the apostle Paul reminds members of their community: “There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ.” Since we are all called to live as one, we are focusing our attention on ways we can eliminate and reduce homelessness in Metropolitan Atlanta. Therefore we are pleased to announce that our preacher for Sunday is Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, Director of Religion at Chautauqua Institution. Her work with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. serves as a testament to her commitment to promote justice and equality in our world. She has also authored a book entitled, “Living Into Hope: A Call to Spiritual Action for Such a Time as This.” On Saturday the Urban Ministry Conference will bring together service providers from throughout metropolitan Atlanta to promote a systemic approach for ending homelessness. We will also offer numerous service opportunities throughout the entire weekend. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Anyone can be great because everyone can serve.” Therefore, we look forward to each of you joining us as we strive to be among those who are “great” in the kingdom of our Lord. Grace and peace, Connie Lee
