We are coming back to the heart of worship this Summer at FBC Shelby. Beginning in June up until the end of July, we will be in our “Heart of Worship” sermon series focusing on the importance of why we worship our King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ. Throughout the series, we will learn what it looks like to simply “be” with Jesus as we go about our day to day busy schedules. By studying worship-centered scriptures, we’ll better understand how to cling to Jesus whenever we face a difficult storm in our lives. We can’t wait to see what God will do through His word in this series!

If you are looking for a community to walk with you through a period of grieving or loss, there’s a home for you at FBC Shelby. Our Grief Community group will begin meeting on Wednesday, June 1st at 6pm at the FBC Shelby campus and will continue for 5 consecutive weeks. You can join the group at any point, the content isn't dependent on the previous week's group content. For more information, please email operations@fbcshelby.org

Service Community Garden Thanks Many thanks to Michael Southard and Susan McConnell for the many years of service in the church’s community garden. The garden is currently without leadership. Anyone interested in being involved with this project, please contact Judy Hawkins at hawkgolf1@hotmail.com First Baptist Church Cares Here at First Baptist Church of Shelby, we pray that everyone who comes to our church experiences the love of Christ and true, Biblical community with one another. “First Baptist Church Cares” is a group of our members that enjoy making First Baptist feel like home by writing individual cards; these cards go to each new visitor, those struggling with illness, and keep up with our congregation. FBC Cares meets twice a month on Wednesday mornings, we invite anyone willing to be a part of this group to email Dawn Price at dprice30@carolina.rr.com for more information Help Needed! The Feed the Hungry Ministry is in need of some extra help each week. The current team is struggling to meet each need and can’t do it all now that they are feeding warm meals. We need someone to come between 11:30am and 1:30pm to help set up tables and chairs, serve food, (maybe share a devotional, or sing, say a blessing on occasion) and be the hands and feet of Jesus sharing his love to those who are hungry physically and mentally. If you would like to serve or want more information, please email Jene@fbcshelby.org Mother’s Morning Out Mission Project Mother’s Morning Out recently completed a wonderful Mission Project; they wanted to give back the Feed the Hungry program; a ministry of First Baptist Church. The children brought in cases of water, individual bags of chips, Little Debbie cakes and other food items to Mr. Woody Kennedy to give to those struggling with homelessness in our community. Thanks to all the families that brought in food!! ww

Our Cub Scouts wanted to say thank you to First Baptist Church of Shelby for sponsoring them this year! They had a wonderful time engaging in several outdoor activities as they built community with friends in the area. Thank you FBC Shelby!
