TO SAY THAT IT'S AN EXCITING TIME AT THE BERKLEY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WOULD BE AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Changes have led to new and invigorating ideas that continue to support member businesses. The Berk Perk Discount Card program launched in late 2022, featuring over 25 enticing discounts and offers at participating Chamber businesses. These businesses appreciate the community support and dedication, and participate by offering incentives to enhance serving loyal customers and clients. Think local when shopping, dining, and using professional services.
Following that up, the Chamber rolled out the Berkley Bullhorn in 2023 at Art Bash with one clear objective: to amplify Chamber businesses to local residents. Numerous businesses donated gift cards and prizes to mark its inception.
The Bullhorn sounds off on all the great Berk Perk Discount Card deals at Woodward Corner Market, Mongers' Provisions, Urge Juice, Crispelli's, The Neighbor's Shoppe, Berkley Common, Vitrine, and so many more. Berk Perk Discount Cards are on sale now at Woodward Corner Market, Berkley City Hall, and the Berkley Public Library for $35 each. Cards can also be purchased through the Chamber's website, with $15 from each card sold benefiting the Berkley Education Foundation. Some Berkley School PTA groups are selling them too!
ADDITIONALLY, THE BULLHORN HELPS YOU STAY UP-TO-DATE with new business ribbon cuttings, upcoming Chamber events, and local business owner spotlights via the Shout It Out feature. To engage even more with the community, I'm All Ears showcases pets from local businesses and residents."
The Berkley Bullhorn is designed to be a resource for both Chamber businesses and residents. When we can spread the word about what's happening in our business community, residents are better able to show their support. Everyone wins," explains Brett Heitz, Marketing Manager.

ART-TASTIC EVENTS
Art Bash returned with sunny skies and a plethora of artists and purveyors. A soggy Street Art Fest followed a month later, with chalk artists showing off their talents despite the rain. The expanded event saw the addition of the Culinary Corridor featuring dozens of artisanal food vendors for attendees to explore. The Culinary Corridor, sponsored by Woodward Corner Market, added another dimension to the annual fest.
BERKLEY KIT HOMES TOUR
Did you know that you could order a home, referred to as a kit home, from a Sears catalog a century ago? In today's terms, it's like ordering something from Amazon. You would receive everything down to the nails, along with detailed assembly instructions. Berkley has over 50 of these kit homes still standing.
The Berkley Kit Homes Tour debuted on September 30 with an abundance of community interest. The Chamber worked with the Berkley Historical Committee to produce this one-of-a-kind event that featured indoor tours of six homes. Four drive-by only homes participated as well. A special thank you goes out to the homeowners who graciously opened their doors!
STATE OF THE CITIES
The annual State of the Cities was held on October 27 with the Chamber honoring exceptional community members and businesses. RoseAnn Nicolai was honored as the Person-of-the-Year and Woodward Corner Market was awarded Business of the Year. The event also included updates from local government entities including the City of Berkley, City of Huntington Woods, Berkley School District, and the Berkley DDA.
