THE MONARCH MARKET CAFE IS A FULL-SERVICE CAFÉ AND SPECIALTY SHOP WHERE YOU CAN PURCHASE DELICIOUS COFFEE, SCRUMPTIOUS PASTRIES, DELECTABLE GELATO, AND NUMEROUS HOUSEHOLD STAPLES AND SNACK ITEMS.

In addition to regular coffee, the market offers lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, teas, hot chocolate, and a variety of other flavorful beverages.

In the beginning, owner and operator Jeremy Wolfe imagined that the Monarch Market Cafe would be primarily a specialty market and café destination for locals in Huntington Woods. But as word spread about the delightful beverages and food, Monarch quickly became a much-frequented coffee shop, market, and eatery serving people from all around the Woodward Corridor.

If you stop in the café for breakfast, you can order bagel bombs (sandwiches with a cream cheese base), egg bagel bombs (with either sausage or bacon), breakfast burritos, and smoothies. If you’re looking for a convenient and satisfying bite for lunch, you will find these selections at the café: Mediterranean chicken wraps, turkey sandwiches, grilled cheese, and vegan options. Other items on the menu are the vegan 3-bean chili (accompanied with a side of vegan cornbread), creamy tomato soup, along with a lox-and-bagel sandwich.

“WE BAKE GLUTEN-FREE MUFFINS—BLUEBERRY AND BANANA-CHOCOLATE CHIP—DAILY,” said Jeremy. “We also bake vegan, gluten-free chocolate chip cookies and fruit crumble bars. We offer ten different sandwiches/burritos – all of which can be made gluten-free. We also sell beer, spritzers, wine, and spirits.”

With so many mouth-watering options on the menu, it’s no wonder the establishment has been receiving enthusiastic reviews. “I love this shop!” said Leslie C. of Southfield. “Excellent coffee drinks, a variety of milks to choose from (including oat milk), great food, fun gift ideas (flasks, mugs, t-shirts), and unique grocery items. I love their Mexican Mocha, which is one of their signature drink items.” She also raves that it has “plenty of parking, and indoor and outdoor seating.”
