Projects Underway in Nigeria
There are a number of major infrastructure projects currently underway in Nigeria right now, including the construction of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway, the development of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit urban rail system and the Mambilla Hydropower Project.
Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is an infrastructure project currently under development in Nigeria that will link the city of Lagos with the port city of Calabar. There are also plans for a railway line which will pass through a number of Nigerian states including Ogun, Edo, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Cross River.
The Lagos Rail Mass Transit development is underway in Lagos. This project involves the construction of a 35-kilometer urban rail system that features seven lines, as well as the installation of railway equipment such as rolling stock, electric power, signalling and fare collection equipment. Once completed, it’s anticipated that the system will transport at least 500,000 passengers every day.
Lagos Light Rail Project Mambilla Hydropower Project
The Mambilla Hydropower Project is set to be developed on the Donga River in Nigeria’s Taraba State. Four dams will be constructed as well as two underground powerhouses housing 12 turbine generators.


The Lagos Rail Mass Transit development is underway in Lagos. Once completed, it’s anticipated that the system will transport at least 500,000 passengers every day.
