Silver Lining Last Monday was grocery day for us. I arrived at 11:30 AM at the grocery. I spent a total of 6 hours and 20 minutes! As I exit the building, I returned the parking card and handed a Php 50 bill to the cashier. That time, I heard God speaking to my heart. I believe we all need that assurance, especially with what we are facing. May God embrace us today through His word. Have a blessed Feast today. In Christ, John Ben Rodriguez

(10,000 steps/day is good for the body) Madami kang tinakot para madami ang makarealize kung pano pahalagahan ang kalusugan. COVID-19 kahit nakakatakot ka... kahit bad ka sa katawan ng tao... totoo pala na I see the good in the bad. Best Preaching Ever TALK 2: The Anawim Matthew 5:1-12 NLTCE Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Isaiah 61:2-4 NLTCE He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. 3 To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. 4 They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations.”

Isaiah 48:10 NLTCE I have refined you in the furnace of suffering.

Last Week’s Talk and Homily HOMILY

The Gospel Reading According to John 9:1, 6-9, 13-17, 34-38 Cure of the Blind Man

“What is essential is not the want, but the Who.” - Rev. Fr. Michael Laguardia The Gospel is about the contrast between light and darkness. While we are in the darkness with the Covid-19 outbreak, be assured that Jesus is the Light that dispels the darkness. Remember, the light always overcomes darkness. This pandemic is like a reset button because everything can go back to its normal condition.Like a chess game, we can request to play another game. We can have another chance. The current situation revealed our blindness -- we were busy for so many things, took things for granted, and forgot what is essential. FBA AM Session live session By Rev. Fr. Michael Laguardia

We need Jesus. It is now the time to ask the Lord to heal our land. God will ensure that His children will remain to walk in the light and not in darkness.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

TALK 1: Upside Down Kingdom Use God’s measuring stick

Beatitudes, in Latin, means blessings. Beatitudes are neither ethical standards nor commandments. The beatitudes are God’s VIP guest list invited to His upside down kingdom. He ministered to the “cursed” people in the society, nowadays known as “laylayan ng lipunan.” How are you addressing or ministering to others? The Lord invites us to meet them where they are. The truth is that the Kingdom of the world values the powerful, but God’s His Kingdom values the powerless. Two horrible things that can happen when you use the measuring stick of man. Either you will never measure up or you might end up being judgmental about others. To be someone else is the most stressful situation. To be the best version of yourself is the most relaxing state. Stop complaining and comparing. Start using God’s measuring stick. We are all equal His kingdom. Treat the poor, the homeless and the sick as VIPs too. When you stop looking down on yourself, you’ll also stop looking down on others. Discrimination shows that our judgments are guided by evil motives. Don’t curse the darkness, instead, but be the light to other people. We can do small things with great love. Be a blessing to many no matter how small it is, especially those in need.

Deep, Difficult, and Dangerous When Marowe was still my girlfriend, I lived with my parents in Cubao while she lived in faraway Paranaque. The MRT in EDSA was under construction and C5 was not yet completed, so the traffic was horrific. Every night, bringing Marowe home every night was like driving to Baguio, hours-wise. When I shared this to my friend, he had a brilliant solution. He said, “Bo, while they’re still building the MRT in EDSA and C5, I suggest that you look for girlfriend in Quezon City. When all the construction is done, you can go back to Marowe.”

But love doesn’t work that way.

Because I loved bringing her home. Even if it took long. In fact, the longer, the better—because she was with me. Love sacrifices. And that’s what I want you to do today. Because today will be one of the most difficult talks you’ll hear. You’re going to learn deep, difficult, and dangerous stuff. But it will all be worth it. May your dreams come true, Bo Sanchez Feast Founder
