GCQ - God Conquers our Quietness! Now that the waiting is almost over after being on lockdown for over two and half months that seemed endless, restless, and for some it may have reached the point of hopelessness, we now prepare to transition to another chapter in our life, the so-called New Normal. While some are probably excited, many still have qualms and reservations about what awaits us in this new phase in our careers, business, family, and all other concerns. We are mostly thinking about the adjustments from the old to the new. But mind you, even without saying or praying about it, God knows the desires of our hearts. He knows all our needs, and even our wants, and spoils us to the limit. As long we remain attuned and connected to Him, surely He will always see us through. In the quietness of our hearts, mind, and soul, He is whispering to us now... “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10 Be Blessed, Adrian Panganiban P.S. Speaking of the new normal, we will have a new Feast beginning next Sunday. We are reformatting and reinventing the Feast Bay Area Online! We are joining our District Head Builder, Bro. Alvin Barcelona in the coming Sundays for two morning sessions, 8 A.M. and 10 A.M. Be there!

Family is Life In one of our past meetings, I remember how I admired Bene, Bro. Bo’s son, because of his amazing confidence. He was extremely comfortable talking even about the tasks that he was unable to fulfill. Sa isip ko, baka kung ako yung nasa kalagayan niya ay magpapalusot pa ako or mahihiyang umamin sa mga bagay na hindi ko nagawa. Witnessing that made me realize how blessed he was being raised in a terrific and strong family. Grabe pala kapag ang magulang mo ay makadiyos, mapagmahal, at supportive. This inspired me more to really give my best as I raise my own children. Galing kasi ako sa broken family kaya ayoko nang maulit pa sa mga magiging anak ko yung mga hirap na pinagdaanan ko. Hopefully my kids will grow up confident and positive. That is what we will learn today: the importance of family and how God wants us to be deliberate in making it work. God is gracious. So even when you come from a broken home, He still has a wonderful plan for you. May our families grow in love and in faith after this. Have a blessed Feast today. In Christ, John Ben Rodriguez

BLESSING BLOG The Blessings of Pandemic By Kevin Tansiongco, Corporate Librarian

I believe that God is always present in my life and in everything that I do, and during pandemic, I felt His presence more. It’s been almost three months of abnormal living because of COVID-19. My work, my studies, and some of my volunteer works stopped abruptly. As a corporate librarian and a faculty member for a library and information science education, I should say I’m well compensated. During the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), however, the company I work gave me an opportunity to work from home but on scheduled basis. Hence, no work, no pay for me. I’m worried because my bills are coming and I’m not receiving regular income. But with prayer and trust to God, nawawala na lang ang mga worries. God will provide. The situation led me back to do the things I do when I was younger. We started praying the holy rosary everyday again. It brought memories of my younger days when I’d be joining the Flores de mayo every summer, leading a Via Crusis procession, leading a house to house rosary every October in our province in Romblon, and a lot more religious activities. I was also a Parish Youth Ministry leader when I was in high school, an altar server and lector commentator. When I studied here in Manila, I had some limitations and could no longer participate in such events. Buti na lang, I found The Feast and became part of the Liturgy Ministry. Grateful to belong to a spiritual family especially at this time of pandemic. We didn’t have any choice but to stay at home -- which turned out as a big blessing -- and enjoyed our moments together as a family having lots of time to talk and play. We were able to do things that we have not been doing for the longest time. Nowadays, we sing and we even pray together through worship songs from YouTube. That makes our morning alive and happy! We can stay together in the morning instead of rushing to get out of the house early. The Holy Spirit is always here to guide and bless our family for all the things that we do. Personally, I believe that the Lord is there for us no matter what happens in our lives.

Bible Verse “You have heard the law that says, ‘A man can divorce his wife by merely giving her a written notice of divorce.’ 32 But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman also commits adultery. (Matthew 7:31-32 NLT) Suppose a man marries a woman but she does not please him. Having discovered something wrong with her, he writes a document of divorce, hands it to her, and sends her away from his house. 2 When she leaves his house, she is free to marry another man. (Deuteronomy 24:1-2 NLT)

Personal Reflection & Discussion Question: How have you been fighting for your family? Which area do you need to work on more: Character, Communication, and Commitment?

LAST WEEK’S HOMILY & TALK HOMILY

Gospel Reading According to Matthew 28:16-20 “Jesus ascended to heaven not to abandon us but to give us hope.” - Father Bob McConaghy The God in the old testament is the God above. He is out of reach. But the God in the new testament is “Emmanuel” which means “God is with us.” The apostles was with Jesus for a long time, saw His miracles and heard His teachings but they did not take notes. Instead, they are simply with Him. When He returned to the Father, He sent the Holy Spirit so His love continues to fill the entire universe. From being fearful and doubtful, the apostles suddenly are full of life and relentless in carrying out their mission to go to all nations and spread the word of God. God gave the Holy Spirit so that we could live forever and that’s the only hope of the Ascension. He did not only give the gift of Holy Spirit but gifts of the Holy Spirit. And these gifts are given to us so that it could be given away. You are in a mission and God calls you by name. When you discover your mission and work on its fulfilment through sacrificial love, you will find the joy of Jesus in you.

Does Your Future Have a Future? Bro JB shared that we need to look beyond our future. When God promised to do something, we have to hold on to it because it will remind us of what He can do to our lives. When you wake up in the morning, be deliberate. If you win the morning, you win the day. Speak good things into your future at the beginning of the day. In addition, read God’s word every morning. The Two More Assignments You Need to Do: Assignment No.1: Short history of God-experiences. Recall your answered prayers, whether big or small, to remind yourself about how good God is. Think about trials transformed into blessings. When was the time God used you to bless others? Write your God-bearing signs. Miracles are signs of God’s presence in us. Oftentimes we think of miracles as mystical and grand but not always. Ask yourself, “How has God worked through me all the past years?” List all of them.

old model instead of replacing it with a new one. Discern if God is asking you to go in an unfamiliar territory. Stop a habit of looking at the past because the future is not there. Refresh your thoughts to accept new blessings from God. Stop improving and you start dying. Principle 2: You cannot live on yesterday’s faith. The problem is we grow but we don’t grow up. Most of us stayed too long in our comfort zone like our faith. Remember, faith needs a daily refresh.

BIG MESSAGE: God is Doing Something New

Assignment No. 2: Define your reason for waking up every morning. What is your purpose in life? What would you want people to say about you when you die? Whatever you write will be your mission statement. Go into prayer and write it down. Remember, God is doing something new and He’s working on it within you. Jesus is the river flowing inside of you. We lose our fear when God is near and no one is hopeless whose hope is in God. Two Principles to Create a Future for Your Future Principle 1: You cannot live on yesterday’s victories. When you succeed, you become complacent. Sadly, we like improving on the

God’s Antidote To Almost Every World Problem All over the Philippines, even if we don’t have an official divorce law, marriages are breaking apart. I know. I get thousands of messages each week, many of them spouses crying to me, telling me that their marriages are gone. Broken families have a real impact on poverty. In the US, 5% of married families are considered poor, but a whopping 30% of single-households are considered poor. It also has an impact on crime. Studies show that the most important predictor of criminal behavior is the father’s absence in a person’s life. What should we do? With God beside us, let’s fight for our families. I believe a loving family is God’s antidote to almost every problem. May your dreams come true, BO SANCHEZ The Feast, Founder PS. And what if we can’t repair the marriage? Follow the Lord and you break the cycle and bless the future of your children.

Revised Oration Imperata (To be prayed at 12 noon and 8 in the evening)

God our Father, we come to You in our need to ask Your protection against the COVID-19 that has disturbed and even claimed lives. We pray that You guide the people tasked to find cures for this disease and to stem its transmission. Protect the medical experts that they may minister to the sick with competence and compassion. We pray for those afflicted. May they be restored to health soon. Protect those who care for them. Grant eternal rest to those who have died. Give us the grace in this trying time to work for the good of all and to help those in need. We implore You to stop the spread of this virus and to save us from our fears.

Grant all these through our Lord Jesus Christ Your Son who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen. (Sub Tuum Praesidium) We fly to you protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our petition in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen. Our Lady, Health of the sick, pray for us. Saint Raphael, the Archangel, pray for us. Saint Rock, pray for us. Saint Lorenzo ruiz, pray for us. Saint Pedro Calungsod, pray for us.
