Persuasion: In the digital world, content is your best friend. Content can be used to persuade people. Through the power of words, you can persuade people to buy your service or product. A strong action content is thus, a generous revenue stream for your business and you must ensure the maximum e cacy while drafting the action content for your business.

Brand Awareness: This does not directly contribute to your revenues. However, strong brand awareness helps in improving your reach and over the years, adds some numbers to your revenue as well. Brand awareness can be brought about by using a nity content. Building up a community of people on the social media or your blog can help in spreading the word far and wide. When people start associating with your brand, they share your content and aid you in creating more awareness. Now that we know how content can be instrumental in driving revenues, let us talk about the real deal – driving pro ts through your content. Invest in the right channel The rst mistake that every content marketer makes is to share their content everywhere. This is a mistake because you put in the time, e orts and even money to promote your content on multiple platforms while there are only a couple of them which are pro table for you. This brings us to the rst method – Selecting your channels. Now, depending upon the nature of your business, you need to select the channels that suit you best. For example, I share my content on LinkedIn and Twitter. I do not use Facebook because only a few of my friends are in the content business and


sharing this content with them does not make any sense. However, on LinkedIn, I have a well-de ned group of professionals who can bene t from my work and even o er their ideas on the same. Thus, it makes more sense to devote time, e orts and money on LinkedIn than Facebook. Similarly, you need to make sure which channels are worth your time and e ort. For a start, select 4 – 5 channels on which you would like to share your content. After a few months, collect data from each of the channels. Go through the CTR (Click Through Rates), and conversion ratio and then divide the pro ts you generated from a single channel with the amount you invested in it (make sure to count in your time as well). This will give you an idea about which channels are working for you. Once you know that, select the top 2 channels and focus more energy on these as they will help you earn more.

Promote the evergreen, its recurring publicity Promotion, even of the older posts, is important. You have to promote as much as you can on the channels that work for you. There are posts which are evergreen and o er relevant value to the readers for years. This type of content needs to be reshared again and again in order to keep the new people posted about it. While re-sharing does not cost you any money, it can de nitely add up to the pro ts.

Spend Wisely Now, this method is a little time-consuming. The goal of your content is to be better than your competitors. Once you’ve achieved it, there is no need to improve upon the same content. In monetary terms, you may spend money on custom graphics, videos and animations to make your content the best . However, spending more on the same content even when it is better than all your competitors is a waste of money. This is because of the following reason – People can only know that your content is better when they have something to compare it to. Since your content is already the best, people will not spot the di erence because for them your content is the best anyways. So, this does not a ect the returns that you reap from the content and therefore, you should know where to stop when it comes to spending on your content creating activities.

Many content marketers feel that outbound marketing is exclusive to content marketing services. However, this is not the case. Purely depending on the organic tra c and SEO to improve your sales is not feasible. For this reason, a little cocktail of content marketing along with outbound tactics is necessary. Facebook or LinkedIn marketing tools, PPC and even Google Adwords for Search are great methods to get the necessary push. Once the content is presented to the people, it is the quality that makes them follow it. So, using outbound marketing techniques as per your budget is a great way to gain exposure quickly and improve your ROI from the content, ultimately driving more pro ts.

Do your Homework This is the most important method. Measure the ROI for di erent content that you’ve created. Compare the performance and see which type of content comes out as the winner. The content types that are yielding more pro t to your business must be pursued in order to improve the ROI.

Also, promoting the content that is working really well for your company is what is needed. Doing your homework is, thus, very important if you really want to improve your pro ts and drive more revenues using your content. These methods, though seemingly simple, are quite powerful.
