Message from the President
Let me extend my best wishes for a very Merry Christmas to our members, families and friends.
Time and again, the Sampaguita Ball tradition has served as the perfect venue to celebrate the happiest holiday of the year. Christmas is special because it is a holiday built around the family. The sentiment of love, joy and togetherness is proof of our being here tonight. I hope that this gathering will be a meaningful opportunity for long lasting friendships and ties that bind us together to preserve our cultural heritage and strengthen the Filipino community.
Theofficersof F.A.T.wantedsomething differentandjustforthisonetime, break from the past. We decided on the “Masquerade” as the theme for tonight to add more excitement, fun and a hope we can amuse each other.
It is quite remarkable that you never tire of supporting our activities and events year after year. I am so grateful to our generous members and sponsors to make our souvenir programpossible since it started 5 years ago. Thank you verymuch.
As I join you in our celebration, please allow me to renew my commitment to put more effort in strengthening our Filipino community by enhancing creativity in our events and activities to keep your interest alive.

So let’s unfold the events of the night and have a fantastic and memorable evening!
Sincerely yours,
Norah Scott President

Message from the Chairman
As the newly elected Chairman of the Board of SCORE, I want to welcome all of you to the 2018 Sampaguita Ball of the Filipino Association of Toledo. For over 20 years, this event has been the annual opportunity for my Filipino American family to connect with our Filipino Friends and culture. This and other activities such as the Misa de Gallo celebrate what is important to all of us about the Christmas Season. We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As this celebration brings us closer to family and friends, it should serve to remind us that the love that we all share are a reflection of the love of our Lord God that caused him to send his only Son to Redeem all of us.
It is the purpose of SCORE to provide a means by which the Filipino Americans of our region can share the love and the "daily bread" that God has provided us. We have shared in helping to provide food, shelter and healthcare to the needy not only here in Toledo and back home in the Philippines but also to the needy of other communities of these United States such as Texas, Puerto Rico, North Carolina, and Florida and to the needy of other parts of the world such as Honduras, Guatemala, Haiti, Indonesia, Nepal, and Tanzania.
During this Holiday Season, let us all pray for the love of God to continue to bless us and our families and to continue to show us ways to share our love and our blessings with those in need, wherever they may be.
Thank you for being members of the Filipino Association of Toledo and may God bless all of you.
Dr. Tim Mattison Chairman of the Board
