Welcome To VGM Group

Welcome To VGM

On behalf of VGM Group employee owners, welcome to VGM!

What started as an idea between three visionaries on a couch in 1986, has now grown to a name recognized nationwide. VGM started as a community of home medical equipment providers—but in that time, we’ve evolved into providing a wide spectrum of services to a broader, more diverse customer base. In 2008, VGM became a 100% employee-owned company through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). In other words, when you work here, you own the place.

We do important work here at VGM, and it’s our employee owners who are responsible for our success. We believe in Creating Your Future, that each employee owner has the opportunity to grow and succeed—it’s even one of our Power of One Principles (more about those on page 5). It is these principles that define our corporate culture.

In this booklet, you’ll receive a high-level overview of VGM, our business units, and our culture. It might be a lot to take in at first, but it’s here to help guide you along your VGM journey.

Once again, welcome to VGM. We’re glad you’re here.

About VGM Group

VGM Group is a diversified group of over 10 business units helping customers simplify the complexities of doing business. With a wide array of services touching many industries and a growing number of employees that stretch across the U.S. and Canada, we stay connected through our motto: You Belong At VGM. Our motto is at the foundation holding up the framework of our membership pillars, guiding principles, and purposes for doing business.

Pillars of Community

Our customers and members are the center of what we do, and these four pillars represent what they count on us to deliver.

Our customers demand we provide compelling services— savings solutions, influence over decisions, access, consulting, and protection—to name a few.

They also want to work with people they like, trust, and enjoy doing business and building personal relationships with.

We must seek to find opportunities to create impactful experiences for these businesses wherever we can. When we can give someone an impactful experience, it leaves a lasting imprint. It creates permanence.

Then there is expertise, education, and a network of knowledge. These things all fall under the category of thought leadership, and they are an important part of attracting and retaining customers.

Five Purposes For Doing Business

Anyone can feel belonging to the VGM Group brand, whether they are a businessperson, prospective employee, or interested community member. This is because they are personally or professionally impacted by at least one of these five core reasons we do business. They feel connected to our purpose.

Empower employee owners to impact the business #1

IMPACTFUL EXPERIENCES

Give back to the communities where we live #2

Power Of One Principles

We are guided by what we call our Power Of One principles, which are ideas we embrace each day. The Power Of One is the ability of one employee to lean into what they do every day to powerfully impact the business.

Empower employee owners to impact the business

VGM Awards

Each year, VGM recognizes and celebrates employee owners who live the Power Of One Principles. In November, nominations are open for VGM's internal employee-owner awards program, the annual VGM Awards. All employees are encouraged to nominate their peers for recognition in one of eight categories named after our Power Of One Principles. A selection committee of leaders choose finalists in December, and winners are announced in a formal awards ceremony each January. This is a wonderful way we Cheer Each Other On each year.

The individuals and groups honored with VGM Awards are high achievers who go above and beyond their job descriptions to deliver meaningful, memorable service. They embody VGM’s Power Of One Principles and represent our five reasons for doing business.

Making A Difference

We believe in investing in our community to make it a better place. And as a 100% employeeowned company, we have the power to do so by choosing to donate to organizations focused on improving the lives of the people they serve.

On Valentine’s Day, the VGM Community Giving Committee announced the 2025 Be The Change Partners. These three organizations aim to make a PAWsitive impact on families and animals in the communities employee owners call home. In total, $37,500 was donated, spread across three locations near VGM locations:

• $5,000 – Nashville Human Association. This organization dedicates efforts to aiding sick, homeless, and at-risk shelter pets throughout Tennessee and across the globe.

• $7,500 – Animal Rescue League of Iowa. Iowa’s largest nonprofit animal shelter serves people and pets from across the state of Iowa through various programs, including pet adoption, humane education, pet behavior training, animal cruelty intervention, and more.

• $25,000 – Cedar Bend Human Society. Located in the Cedar Valley, where a majority of employee owners call home, Cedar Ben provides affordable pet wellness services and pet food assistance for families in need. In addition, VGM’s donation with help add more kennels to Cedar Bend’s facility to increase their capacity.
