For the first time in seven years, US parcel revenue fell slightly to $197.9 billion last year despite parcel volume increasing to 21.7 billion in 2023. While the parcel shipping landscape has weathered a fair number of challenges already in 2024, the market continues to show signs of recovery, as shipping volumes and consumer spending moderate in the face of cooling inflation. Yet, if the global disruptions in the supply chain, like the Red Sea crisis, stability of global trade and geopolitical unrest, taught us anything, it is that we need to rethink how we build our logistics models, delivery networks and supply chains of the future.

She is also a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP). Sandy is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration focused in logistics, operations management and international business.

Isabelle Pan is an Associate Partner in McKinsey’s Logistics practice and a leader of the McKinsey Center for eCommerce Operations in North America, a hub dedicated to enabling the physical flow of digital commerce.
