The Christmas many people don’t talk about When the season of joy becomes the loneliest time of the year
CHRISTMAS arrives each year wrapped in expectation - lights in the streets, full tables, busy homes and well-worn traditions. It is spoken of as a season of joy and merriment, when families gather and the world feels warmer. Yet for many, Christmas feels anything but joyful. For some people, this will be their first Christmas without a child. a partner, a business, a home, or the stability that once anchored their lives. The absence is not subtle. It is loud. Loneliness at Christmas is not simply about being alone. It is about feeling displaced. It is about disorientation, fear and grief quietly co-existing beneath the noise of celebration. This is why the festive season can become a time when people feel invisible. The unspoken thought - what is the point? - can creep in, unnoticed by those who are surrounded by noise and company. And yet, meaning at Christmas has never truly come from excess. It does

Santa on duty SANTA CLAUS and Mrs Claus recently brought festive cheer to Palma’s Police Headquarters, delighting dozens of children. Leaving their sleigh behind at the North Pole, the beloved couple made a memorable arrival in a police patrol car at 11am, escorted by officers and warmly welcomed by Police Chief José Luis Santafé alongside several commissioners. The Unified Police Union (SUP) invited Santa and Mrs Claus to the Police Headquarters for the fourth time, allowing them to bring forward their official visit to homes around the world, and spread festive cheer to local children. Excited youngsters handed over their letters, and received some early Christmas gifts. Children received miniature police cars, helicopters and trucks, along with colouring books, paints, pens and special children’s police ID cards. The event was made even more special as several officers attended with their own children, creating a joyful family atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter and Christmas spirit.
