MALLORCA has been named one of Forbes Travel Guide’s top destinations for 2026, buoyed by the island’s growing appeal as a hub for astrotourism. Attention will peak on August 12, when Spain witnesses its first total solar eclipse in more than a century, with Mallorca highlighted as one of the most rewarding places to experience it. Forbes points to the Jumeirah Mallorca, perched above the Mediterranean with sweeping views of the Serra de Tramuntana, as a standout vantage point. The hotel plans four days of eclipse-themed events celebrating the celestial spectacle. The accolade reflects Mallorca’s wider success. In 2024, the island welcomed around 13.4 million visitors, generating over €16 billion in tourism spending. With international arrivals rising again in 2025, Mallorca continues to shine as a vibrant, globally recognised destination.

Couture Queen QUEEN LETIZIA has once again captured all eyes with her latest wardrobe choice, showcasing her talent for blending elegance with practicality. The monarch chose a sophisticated midi dress by the Mallorcan brand Cortana for the 20th-anniversary event of the Fundación del Español Urgente (FundéuRAE). This selection highlights her support for Spanish fashion and her preference for brands that emphasise quality and sustainability - core values of Cortana. Crafted from stretch virgin wool, the dress featured an irregular cold-dye finish, a Japanese sleeve, and a V-neckline, effortlessly combining sophistication with modernity. Founded by Rosa Esteva in 2001, Cortana creates timeless, sustainable designs in Barcelona and Mallorca, drawing inspiration from the islands’ landscapes. Each outfit the Queen wears - dubbed the ‘Letizia effect’ - gives Spanish brands a global spotlight. By choosing artisanal, eco-conscious pieces like this dress, she sets trends while championing ethical local fashion.
