So what happens now?

We will take you through step by step...

Unconditional offer

Wow! Well done. This means you have already met our entry requirements so we will see you in September!

Conditional offer

This means you have been accepted to study here at Stockton Riverside College providing you achieve the required course entry requirements. If you do not achieve these grades, don’t worry! We will still have a course for you. Speak to our admissions team, who will chat to you about your options.

Referral

Don’t worry! All this means is that the course you applied for was unsuitable. The college will contact you to find a suitable alternative course.

WHAT’S NEXT?

BKSB Assessments

Once you’ve had your interview, you will be asked to complete some short BKSB tests online. These tests are nothing to worry about, we are just checking if you need any extra help with your maths and English.

Taster Evenings

Our taster evenings welcome students to our campus to take part in lessons and workshops with our amazing tutors and to have some fun. You can choose an area that you’re most interested in and spend the evening learning about your chosen subject. Look out for your invite to our March 2024 Taster Evening!

Welcome Day

Save the date! On Tuesday, 2nd July 2024 we’ll be holding our annual Welcome Day!

Picture this: an action-packed day filled with endless excitement, where you’ll meet your incredible tutor and future classmates. You’ll take part in a fun, interactive session that will leave you buzzing with anticipation, and it’s another chance to ensure that the courses we offer align perfectly with your aspirations. But wait, there’s more! You can also enjoy a series of fun activities, be entertained by our performing arts students and a live DJ, and tantalize your taste buds with our delicious array of refreshments.

Add the date to your diary now and make sure you keep a look out for our emails and letter inviting you in.

Enrolment

Enrolment for new students will begin in August 2024. You will be sent a letter confirming a date and time for you to attend the college to enrol.

BUSINESS STUDENT JUDE WINS ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARD !

“Jude is a determined and dedicated student who is on track to achieve the highest grade in his cohort. Jude has Asperger’s and hasn’t let this get in his way of achieving anything he sets his mind to. He has grown personally, supporting struggling peers and bravely voicing opinions. He has been a pleasure to teach and takes any feedback and learning in and can apply it to any and all situations”.

Next Steps:

Jude has been offered a place at Teesside University and will be studying a BA hons in Business Management.

REBECCA ACHIEVED HER WINGS AND A FIRST CLASS DEGREE !

“My favourite memories were when we had the opportunities to visit British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. I found it really inspiring as this was the type of environment, we would eventually be working in.”

Next Steps:

Since leaving university, Rebecca is now employed as short haul cabin crew for Jet 2. She said: “Every day is so different, It’s extremely hard work but also so rewarding getting to see a different country every day.”

How to contact us:

Closer to the summer months, you will be invited to fill out a bursary application to determine if you are eligible.

A member of our support team will be back in touch once bursary applications open for September 2024. This is usually around the month of July.

Find us in the Student Services Hub located inside our main college building between the hours of 11am-1pm.

STEP 1

Apply online through the College website using the following link: https://apply.the-etc. ac.uk/bursary/

STEP 2

You will need to first enter your student number and date of birth. When entering your student number, please replace the 0 at the start of the number for a capital B.

Please note: If you have not yet enrolled at College and do not have a student number, you will need to wait until you are given one by our Admissions Team.

STEP 4

Please provide valid bank details when applying, as this will help us to speed up any payments due. If you don’t have an account, we can use a guardian/parent in the short term.

STEP 5

Provide income/benefits evidence by following the instructions on the screen.

Please note: You can choose to submit an application without financial evidence, however this will not be fully assessed.

Make sure your personal details are correct and press continue to proceed through the application, making sure you answer all questions.

To complete your application please read the declaration and sign with your name at the end, then press continue. You will receive a thank you message at the end.

A member of the Bursary Team will assess your application (or request further information) within 10 working days. Please wait to be contacted by email or letter.

TRAVEL...

Bus

We have a bus stop right outside of the College. We’re also just a few minutes walk over the Millennium Bridge from Stockton High Street which has bus links to the whole of Teesside. All students can access free bus travel to and from college during term times. Please note there is a £5.00 administration charge per term for students travelling by bus.

Train

Stockton Riverside College is just half a mile away from Thornaby Train Station which has frequent trains from Middlesbrough, Darlington, Hartlepool and Redcar. We’re so close to the station in fact, you can hear the tannoy from our car park.

Road

Just off the A66 Teesside Park exit, our campus is easy to travel to by road and we have two large carparks.
