Stockton Riverside College
Social care providers across Teesside are expected to meet mandatory training requirements set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE), and their respective local authorities. The CQC mandates that all staff must receive appropriate training, supervision, and ongoing development to ensure safe, competent care delivery, with particular focus on areas such as safeguarding, infection control, the Mental Capacity Act, and basic life support. In line with guidance from SCIE and Skills for Care, providers are also expected to embed training within a broader culture of continuing professional development (CPD). Stockton Riverside College aims to support local authorities and social care providers across Teesside offering a range of training opportunities including access to accredited learning programmes, digital platforms, and leadership development opportunities. Together, we hope to promote a proactive, engaged, and skilled health and social care workforce capable of meeting both regulatory requirements and the evolving needs of the local population.
