New premises The brand-new purpose-built training centre aims to tackle the skills gaps in the scaffolding sector.
How does this support businesses?
The All Access Academy delivers a range of courses supporting employers and delegates to upskill with commercial training and offering apprenticeship training to the next generation.
Sean Johnston, director at NETA, said: “The scaffolding industry has been facing skills gaps, locally and nationally, for some time due to issues such as an ageing workforce and a shortage of training. Due to the nature of the trade, scaffolding training needs expertise, industry backing and, of course, lots of space. This new facility will enable us to expand our capacity and help plug both the sector’s training and skills gaps.”
We have reached a milestone! NETA celebrates 50 years in the business. Over the years, NETA has built a stellar reputation and earned the trust of employers in the industry, including JMAC, Kaefer, and Swale Scaffolding. The NETA scaffolding team consists of highly experienced industry professionals who bring years of practical expertise and a strong passion for sharing their knowledge through commercial training courses. With a strong reputation and frequent word-of-mouth recommendations, it's no surprise that NETA’s scaffolding courses are in high demand and are often fully booked.
Calling out for apprentices As you may know, the scaffolding industry is falling behind with demand exceeding supply when it comes to skilled workers. With a host of new infrastructure projects planned in the UK, the industry needs new blood to fill the gaps. At NETA, we offer a fully structured two-year scaffolding apprenticeship with a company sponsor. On completion, apprentices will have developed the skills of a Part 2 Scaffolder. Not to mention, we have one of the highest scaffolding retention rates in the country.
What’s involved? • Our apprenticeship training offers the learner a chance to gain their CCSNG and trainee card, which can support access to site work. Plus, apprentices benefit from a full digital skills package that will improve their technical skills and awareness of online safety. • We support the apprentice with 11 weeks in centre training across a two-year apprenticeship. Our team will work closely with companies to provide support as you mentor your apprentices into industry giants. • Once your apprentices complete the apprenticeship EPA we issue a basic card.
Upskill and stay current with NETA’s commercial training options Our commercial department offers a full complement of CISRS scaffolding training with the ability to create bespoke courses to suit your industry needs. NETA supports the training of newcomers to the industry as well as those looking to advance their careers. A popular commercial course amongst delegates at NETA, is the scaffolding CPD which provides a two-day refresher for qualified scaffolders seeking to renew their licenses every five years.
New status! We are officially outstanding. NETA, as part of the Education Training Collective (Etc.), received the top rating from Ofsted after inspection in March. We are the only scaffolding training centre in the country to hold this accolade.
Hear what our delegates had to say... “I retired four years ago but due to financial reasons, I decided to get back into it and needed to do my twoday CPD refresher.
“I made a career change and found work in scaffolding through a friend. I did my CO TS and Part 1 with NETA. I am already employed but chose to do my Part 2 to ups kill due to being new to the ind ustry.
“I had always done my training with NETA and know others who have. The delivery is easy going and the course itself is explained well by staff.”
“I wanted to study at NETA again due to the knowledge the staff have on the indust ry. They don’t just read stra ight from a manual; they give exa mples and apply their own experience, and this makes a better training experience .” - Ryan, Scaffolding Part 2, Feb 2025
- Paddy, Scaffolding CPD, Feb 2025
