On February 4th, we opened the doors of our campus to welcome families and learners for the first school day of 2025. The theme chosen for this year, "The Power of Moments," was inspired by the book of the same name by Chip Heath and Dan Heath.
The book explores how certain moments have the power to transform lives, spark change, and create unforgettable memories. At school, this theme invites us to reflect on the importance of creating meaningful experiences for learners, educators, and families.
In the hallways and learning spaces, educators decorated the campus with "Time Murals" to revisit the most significant moments of 2024, as well as a "Time Gallery" showcasing photos of events and cherished memories from our community. Additionally, a special welcome message was recorded and displayed on digital kiosks and the videowall to warmly greet families.
The goal is to ensure that every learner feels the school is a space where valuable memories are created, with a sense of meaning at every step of their educational journey.
We are confident that 2025 will be a year filled with new, unforgettable moments!

No dia 4 de fevereiro abrimos as portas do nosso campus para receber as famílias e estudantes para o primeiro dia letivo de 2025. O tema escolhido para este ano, "The Power of Moments", foi inspirado no livro homônimo de Chip Heath e Dan Heath.
A obra explora como certos momentos têm o poder de transformar vidas, provocar mudanças e criar memórias inesquecíveis. Na escola, essa abordagem nos convida a refletir sobre a importância de construir experiências significativas para estudantes, educadores e famílias.
Nos corredores e espaços de aprendizado, os educadores decoraram a escola com murais do tempo, relembrando os momentos mais importantes de 2024, uma galeria do tempo exibindo fotos dos eventos e memórias criadas na nossa comunidade. Além disso, uma mensagem especial de boasvindas foi gravada e exibida em totens e no videowall como recepção das famílias.
O objetivo é fazer com que cada estudante sinta que a escola é um espaço onde memórias valiosas são criadas, onde há um senso de significado em cada etapa da jornada educacional.

My Sweet Last First Day: Estudantes do Grade 12 Começam o Último Ano
Grade 12 learners were welcomed with great enthusiasm on their "Last First Day," already counting the days until their graduation. We reminded them of the sweetness found in these small, special moments, as it was the last time they would start a school year as high school learners. Their preparation for college has been ongoing for years, but now, the future feels closer than ever.
Os estudantes do Grade 12 foram recebidos com grande entusiasmo em sua "Última Primeira Aula," já contando os dias para a formatura. Lembramos a eles da doçura dos pequenos momentos especiais, já que foi a última vez que começaram o ano escolar como estudantes do ensino médio. Our Grade 12 learners experienced a special and memorable moment in their school journey. As part of the celebrations for their farewell year, they participated in an individual video recording and photo session, capturing not only their images but also their reflections on this significant phase.
Before the recordings began, counselor Camilla led a reflection exercise, encouraging learners to look back on their journeys and project their aspirations for the future. During the recording, they answered questions that prompted them to revisit memories, share expectations, and express their emotions about their final year at Escola Concept.
Among the questions, learners reflected on what they hope to make the most of in this last year, where they envision themselves in the future, and what legacy they wish to leave behind. Additionally, they shared messages for their past and future selves, making the moment even more personal and emotional.
This initiative was more than just a visual record; it was a milestone in each learner's journey, highlighting the importance of the moments lived, the achievements earned, and the bonds formed over the years. Undoubtedly, it was an unforgettable chapter in their path toward new challenges.

Nossos estudantes do Grade 12 viveram um momento especial e marcante em sua trajetória escolar. Como parte das celebrações deste ano de despedida, realizaram uma gravação e um ensaio fotográfico individuais, registrando não apenas suas imagens, mas também suas reflexões sobre essa fase tão significativa.
Antes do início das gravações, a orientadora Camilla conduziu um exercício de reflexão, convidando os estudantes a olharem para suas jornadas e projetarem seus desejos para o futuro. Durante a gravação, responderam a perguntas que os fizeram revisitar memórias, compartilhar expectativas e expressar suas emoções sobre o último ano na Escola Concept.
Entre os questionamentos, os alunos refletiram sobre o que esperam aproveitar ao máximo neste último ano, onde desejam estar no futuro e qual legado gostariam de deixar. Além disso, compartilharam mensagens para suas versões passadas e futuras, tornando o momento ainda mais pessoal e emocionante. Essa ação foi mais do que um simples registro visual: foi um marco na trajetória de cada um, reforçando a importância dos momentos vividos, das conquistas alcançadas e dos laços construídos ao longo dos anos.
Sem dúvida, um capítulo inesquecível na jornada desses estudantes rumo a novos desafios.

Capturing Powerful Moments: O olhar dos estudantes
In the spirit of The Power of Moments, we selected five learners from different age groups to capture the essence of our community through photography. In early February, Marta (Kinder), Nalu (Grade 5), Beatriz (Grade 8), Henrique (Grade 10), and Julia (Grade 12) received a special box containing a vintage camera, a letter with the Golden Rules of photography, and a Taste of Concept chocolate—an invitation to explore, feel, and capture unique moments of school life.
Each click represents more than just an image—it is a story told through the eyes of our learners, offering new perspectives on the spaces, relationships, and experiences that shape our journey. This photo collection will soon be exhibited, inviting our community to see the school from a new angle: through the lens of those who live each moment to the fullest.

No espírito de The Power of Moments, selecionamos cinco learners de diferentes faixas etárias para capturar, por meio da fotografia, a essência da nossa comunidade. No início de fevereiro, Marta(Kinder), Nalu (Grade 5), Beatriz (Grade 8), Henrique (Grade 10) e Julia(Grade 12) receberam uma caixa especial contendo uma câmera vintage, uma carta com as Golden Rules da fotografia e um chocolate Taste of Concept –um convite para explorar, sentir e registrar momentos únicos da vida escolar.

We kicked off our After School Program with great excitement by hosting the second edition of the Activities Fair! Featuring incredible options like Rhythmic Gymnastics, Baby Gym, Creative Workshop, French, Basketball, Ballet, and various tech-based activities, the event offered a wonderful opportunity to answer questions and introduce our partners and program offerings for 2025 to the families. It was also a special moment for learners and teachers to connect before the school year officially begins. Here’s to a year filled with enriching experiences!
Começamos nosso After School Program com grande entusiasmo, realizando a segunda edição da Feira de Atividades! Com a participação especial de modalidades incríveis como Ginástica Rítmica, Baby Gym, Oficina Criativa, Francês, Basquete, Ballet, além de diversas atividades tecnológicas, tivemos uma oportunidade única para tirar dúvidas e apresentar nossos parceiros e opções para 2025 para as nossas famílias. Estudantes do High School recebem universidade internacional no campus
On February 18th, we welcomed Andrea Maldonado, Director of International and Overseas Admissions at the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC).
NSLC is an institution specializing in Summer Programs in the United States for Middle and High School learners. Andrea spoke with our Grade 9 to 12 learners about the programs they offer, how to apply, scholarship opportunities, and answered their questions.
We also heard from our grade 12 learner, Ângelo Coronel de Azevedo Martins, who shared his experience participating in the NSLC Aerospace Engineering program at Johns Hopkins University in 2024.

We held the first Concept Experience of the year, giving our families and learners the opportunity to explore some of the activities offered in the After School program through hands-on workshops on campus. Immersed in interactive experiences, they had the chance to engage in capoeira, ballet, and the creative workshop, discovering new passions along the way.
More than just trying out activities, the event reinforced the importance of family involvement in this journey. Their support is essential in encouraging learners to explore new possibilities and develop their skills.
Realizamos o primeiro Concept Experience do ano, proporcionando às nossas famílias e estudantes a oportunidade de explorar algumas das modalidades oferecidas no programa After School por meio de oficinas no campus. Mergulhando em experiências interativas, eles tiveram a chance de vivenciar a capoeira, o balé e a oficina criativa, descobrindo novas paixões ao longo do processo.
Mais do que experimentar atividades, o evento destacou a importância da participação das famílias nessa jornada. Esse envolvimento é fundamental para motivar os estudantes a explorarem novas possibilidades e desenvolverem suas habilidades.

On Monday, February 24th, Escola Concept celebrated Carnaval with lots of music, colors, and joy. The day began with a lively Circus Parade, where musicians and circus artists welcomed families and led a special procession with Early Years learners, filling the campus with magic and fun. Additionally, the date marked the school's official Carnaval Ball, where Lower School learners and educators dressed up in costumes, wore vibrant colors, and carried creative signs to make the moment even more special. It was an unforgettable day of celebration, full of energy, smiles, and excitement, further strengthening the spirit of community and joy that Carnaval represents.
Na segunda-feira, 24 de fevereiro, a Escola Concept celebrou o Carnaval com muita música, cores e alegria. O dia começou com um animado Cortejo Circense, no qual músicos e artistas circenses deram as boas-vindas às famílias e conduziram um desfile especial com os estudantes do Early Years, enchendo o campus de magia e diversão. Além disso, a data marcou o Baile de Carnaval oficial da escola, em que estudantes e educadores do Lower School vestiram fantasias, usaram cores vibrantes e carregaram cartazes criativos para tornar o momento ainda mais especial. Foi um dia de celebração inesquecível, repleto de energia, sorrisos e muita animação, fortalecendo ainda mais o espírito de comunidade e alegria que o Carnaval representa.

Parent Educational Learning Community (PELC)
Welcome to the first Parent Educational Learning Community (PELC) of the year!
We welcomed 22 of our families to campus on February 26 for our first PELC of the year. The chosen article, "Our Brains Were Not Built for So Much Uncertainty" by Heidi Grant and Tal Goldhamer, sparked enriching reflections and provided insights into how the human brain copes with high levels of uncertainty. To better navigate this reality, the authors suggest science-based strategies such as setting expectations with realistic optimism, focusing on the bigger picture, and creating habits that promote stability. These approaches can help maintain motivation and well-being in times of uncertainty. To read the full article, click here.
