OUR LEARNING ENGINE: WE ARE DESIGNERS

This course catalogue presents the structure of Escola Concept’s Middle School program and the progression of courses across each discipline. Courses are developed using multiple international frameworks, including the BNCC (Base Nacional Comum Curricular), NCSS (National Curriculum Standards for Social Studies), Fieldwork Education, the NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards), the Common Core, and Illustrative Mathematics Together, these frameworks support a coherent and rigorous learning journey.

Middle School at Escola Concept is defined by a set of signature programs that shape how learners grow, create, and apply knowledge. All learners engage in the Project Design Journey, a structured design cycle embedded across subjects and culminating in Passion Projects, where learners investigate a challenge they care about through the stages of Understand, Explore, and Materialize. Learners also participate in the Middle School Challenge, an early introduction to strategic thinking and innovation through real-world problem analysis.

In addition to core academics, learners choose from a range of Academic Electives including Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Emerging Technologies, and Applied Research—that provide early exposure to high-demand fields The Creative Hub supports artistic exploration across visual and performing arts, while TED-Ed, MUN, and other global-competency programs strengthen communication, diplomacy, and public-speaking skills. Learners may also participate in school-embedded that build responsibility, professionalism, and authentic contribution to the community.

Personalized support is anchored by the Personalized Learning Hub, which operates the Foundations Program, Concept Fellows, and the Center for Continuous Growth Weekly Personalized Mentoring and advisory sessions help learners set goals, reflect on progress, and articulate their learning using MAP Growth data and performance indicators. Every learner also participates in Body & Movement to promote wellbeing and lifelong healthy habits.

Escola Concept’s Middle School program offers intentional pathways toward High School, connecting knowledge with action, creativity with academic rigor, and personal purpose with meaningful community impact. Learners explore these pathways through academic planning, advisory classes, and ongoing guidance from counselors and academic performance coaches.
