Description of Actions

Escola Concept is a group of 3 schools in Brazil that connects innovation with education to reimagine traditional teaching, bringing relevance, meaning, purpose, and intentionality to all we do. In our schools, learners learn by doing.

The focus shifts from teaching to learning, from content transmitted by the teacher to the search for a deeper understanding, from finding the right answers to asking curious questions. We structured the Escola Concept experience on four pillars: sustainability, Digital Fluency, Entrepreneurship, and Collaboration.

The pillars are brought to life through meaningful learning, placing our learners as responsible and active citizens who understand that their mission goes beyond the artificial walls of the school.

Since Escola Concept became a signatory to the Global Compact network, we have lived and spoken the language of the Global Goals, connecting every project learners develop to one of the challenges the world faces today.

In addition to the academic approach, we have been engaging families, educators, staff, and partners to think and act to find solutions for a better planet to live on.

Since its opening in 2017 in the cities of Ribeirão Preto and Salvador and in 2018 in São Paulo, Escola Concept is committed to enhancing positive actions, inspiring creative solutions, and connecting our community to impact a more conscious and responsible generation of Brazilian citizens!

Since our last report, we have continued to focus on promoting the principles of the Global Compact through the delivery of education about the sustainable development goals, including applied research through project design journeys, in the four different divisions of our schools: Early Years, Lower School, Middle School, and High School. E s c o l a C o n c e p t

Besides delivering an education on global compact principles, our school is committed to designing an environment conducive to learner agency, a sense of belonging, and community. With that in mind, we have ensured that our learners, educators, families, and leadership have opportunities to learn and practice global citizenship through the lens of digital fluency, collaboration, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

On the following pages, you will learn about the most relevant qualitative and/or quantitative indicators to measure the outcome of our commitment toward the sustainable development goals.

Ancient Egypt in the City of the Sun was an initiative led by the NGO Inspirar-te in partnership with Escola Concept, with the support of the Egyptian Museum of Turin, MASP, MAE-USP, and Itaú Cultural.

The exhibit was first hosted at Instituto Baccarelli in Heliópolis, one of the most socially vulnerable regions in Brazil, from May to June 2022. During this period, it welcomed approximately 10,000 visitors, including learners from public schools and residents of the Heliópolis community. The goal was to provide access to art education for thousands of families who might not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with cultural and historical exhibitions. By bringing the rich legacy of Ancient Egypt to this community, the initiative fostered inspiration, critical thinking, and imagination through art and history.

Following its success in Heliópolis, the exhibit moved to Escola Concept, where it was open to the public from July to September 2022, attracting more than 3,000 visitors. Across both locations, this initiative impacted over 13,000 people, reinforcing the power of education and cultural access to transform lives.
