Gannon and Manyweather named Greatest Greyhounds Seniors Jasmine Gannon (BS 21) and Justin Manyweather (BS 21) earned the Female and Male Greatest Greyhounds titles for the 2021-22 athletic season.
Justin, a member of the ENMU football team, is the 77th Male Greatest Greyhound and Jasmine, of women’s volleyball, is the 42nd Female Greatest Greyhound in the university’s history.
Jasmine capped off a four-season career with the Greyhounds as the team’s leader on offense and defense in 2021. Jasmine is the first volleyball student-athlete to receive the honor since Lauryn Frye won the award in 2016 and 2017. In 2021, the Clovis, New Mexico native led the Greyhounds squad in kills per set, points per set and digs. The outside hitter also posted 27 service aces, 0.28 service aces per set and 2.76 digs per set
The Greatest Greyhound awards date back to 1940-41 on the men’s side and 1978-79 on the women’s side, honoring student-athletes displaying the highest degree of athletic achievement, academic success, leadership qualities, community involvement and positive representation of Eastern New Mexico University. ENMU head coaches and administrative staff vote on the award.
In the LSC, Jasmine finished the 2021 season as one of the top offensive players in the conference, earning All-LSC Second team. In her career, she has been awarded several honors from the Lone Star Conference, named to the All-LSC First Team and All-Academic Team in 2018, the All-Tournament team in 2018 and 2021, and landed on the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll seven times. Over four seasons, Jasmine totaled 112 games in a Greyhound uniform, playing in 423 sets. Offensively, she notched 1,175 kills with 2.78 kills per set, adding 55 service aces, totaling 1,314.0 points and 3.11 points per set. On the defensive side, Jasmine collected 794 digs and held 1.88 digs per set. In 2021, she recorded their best season for hitting percentage, assists, service aces, digs, digs per set, and blocks per set.

Justin ended his Greyhound career with a phenomenal season as Eastern’s leading receiver and kick returner. The Los Angeles, California native paced the Hounds with a season-high 751 receiving yards, 11 receiving touchdowns, and 48 receptions. As a returner, he picked up 322 kick-return yards with one kickoff-return touchdown and 131 punt-return yards. Justin also hauled in more than 100 receiving yards in four games, including a career-best 246 yards and 15 catches against Western New Mexico, when he was named Lone Star Conference (LSC) Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts for the conference office. During the 2021 season, Justin set several single-game and season records at ENMU, including single-game records for receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. His 11 touchdowns in 2021 are the third-most in a single season and the most by an ENMU receiver since 1985.
