Lancaster HUB of Stonecroft Ministries will benefit from a one-day bus trip to New York City on Saturday, May 18. Travelers will depart at 7:30 a.m. from Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, at the parking lot near the barn. The group will arrive in New York City at approximately 10:30 a.m., and participants will have time to do as they please. They will depart New York City at 7 p.m. and will return to Calvary Church at 10:30 p.m. Space is limited. There is a per-person fee to attend, with a discount for groups of five or more people. Faith United Methodist Church, 1290 Fruitville Pike, Lititz, will host its annual Faith Community Day on Saturday, May 11, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. The community yard sale and book sale will begin at 7 a.m. Outdoor yard sale spaces may be reserved through Monday, May 6, by calling 717-569-1154. Crafters and vendors are also encouraged to rent spaces. Barbecue chicken will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out. Sides, desserts, hot dogs, and beverages will be available for purchase as well. 26th Friendship Fest And Third 5K Run Planned By Ann Mead Ash
According to Friendship Community volunteer coordinator Phil Horning, the atmosphere at the organization’s annual Friendship Fest, Auction, and 5K Run is … well, festive. “It’s a lot of fun,” said Horning. “It attracts children and families, and the individuals we support love coming (to the event).” Laurel Spagnolo, director of advancement with Friendship, added that organizers enjoy seeing residents from nearby Landis Homes visiting the fest. Friendship Community, a ministry that helps individuals with developmental disabilities to impact the world with their capabilities, will hold its 2019 Fest, Auction, and 5K, rain or shine, on Saturday, May 11, beginning at 7 a.m. at Friendship Community, 1149 E. Oregon Road, Lititz. The day will open with a cafeteria-style pancake
and sausage breakfast and a plant sale. Two years ago, the organization added a 5K run/walk to the annual event. Registration for this year’s 5K is now open at www.friendshipcommunity .net, or individuals may pick up brochures at the Friendship office. Registration will be discounted through Friday, May 10, and registration will open at 7 a.m. on the day of the run, with the run beginning at 8 a.m. Registrants will receive a goodie bag and a T-shirt while supplies are available. Horning noted that those who sign up for the 5K will have the opportunity to set up their own web page and to request sponsorships from friends and family members if they wish. Runners will be entitled to a free breakfast at the fest. The general auction will begin at 9 a.m. Spagnolo noted that a variety of items are being collected for the auction. She said that purses, household

After Cristin Germaine held the third Dare to Dream Single Moms’ Day Out in 2018, she felt a change was in order. “By the end of 2018, I was talking with trusted friends about where to go with Dare to Dream,” recalled Germaine, who felt the Lord pushing her to expand the audience for the next event. “This will be a brand-new venture,” said Germaine of the free re-envisioned event that will be held on Saturday, June 22, at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day will be called “Dream BIG!: Ignite Your Passion,” and it will be open to men and teenagers age 15 and up in addition to women.
