Bainbridge American Legion Post 197 will hold a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 27, at Falmouth Cemetery. Attendees are to meet at Falmouth United Methodist Church, 180 Falmouth Road, Bainbridge, at 7:45 a.m. and proceed to the cemetery, with the service to begin at 8 a.m.

The Elizabethtown Flower Club will meet at noon on Monday, June 3, at The Gathering Place, 6 Pine St., Mount Joy. The program will be “Freezing Strawberries and Freezer Jam” by Martha Zepp, Master Gardener. Guests are welcome. Reservations and cancellations must be made by noon on Thursday, May 30, by calling Mary Ann Kale at 717-653-9183 to avoid payment for a reserved meal. A cost for lunch has been set.

will hold a low-cost vaccine clinic for cats and dogs on Saturday, June 1, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 840 N. Hanover St., Elizabethtown. Distemper and rabies vaccinations will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. For a three-year rabies vaccination, owners must provide proof of previous rabies vaccination. Microchips will also be available, and the price includes registration. Breeders will not be serviced. Cash and checks will be accepted as payment. Cool spring temperatures can sometimes delay peak strawberry season, but years of experience have meant that the organizers of the Haldeman Mansion Preservation Society (HMPS) Strawberry Festival usually hit the sweet spot with the timing of their event. The community is invited to attend the 14th annual HMPS Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 2, from noon to 4 p.m. at the historic Haldeman Mansion, 230 Locust Grove Road, Bainbridge. Memorial Day is a time set aside to recognize and pay tribute to the many individuals who have died defending the freedom and democracy of this nation. In honor of this cherished patriotic observance, the members of American Legion Conewago Post 329 and Sons of the American Legion Squadron 329 invite the community to the annual Elizabethtown Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27. The parade will step off at 10 a.m.; however, participants should meet at 9:30 a.m. at American Legion Post 329, 240 N. Hanover St., Elizabethtown.
