Landis Prayer Breakfast from pg 1 Named Student Of The Month Hempfield High School senior Joy Landis was named Student of the Month for March by the Lancaster County Career and Technology Center - Mount Joy Campus. She is enrolled in the early childhood education program. Joy was nominated by instructors Ms. Bertolli and Ms. McFalls, who chose her because of her high quality of work, her motivation to be successful, and her kind, courteous, respectful and positive attitude.
Walter Mueller, who runs a counseling service, will talk about the effects of media on our culture,” said Musser. He added that Bradley will provide the welcome and former Mount Joy Major Stan Wills will be the master of ceremonies. The prayer breakfast will close with a song. People of all faiths are welcome to take part in the breakfast. “It’s a meeting of people who are faith-based,” Musser said. “If you believe in prayer, (you are encouraged to attend).” In addition to the Mount Joy event, National Day of Prayer activities will take place throughout Lancaster County on May 2. “There are at least 10 to 12 other locations in the county that do breakfasts, including New Holland and Willow Street.
In Lititz they will hold an evening activity in Lititz Springs Park where 4,000 to 5,000 people show up,” Musser noted. “Some churches will be open throughout the day or do their own events. There is power in numbers coming together.” A complete listing of events to be held in Lancaster County can be found at www.lancasterndp.com.
