Emory In MOTION Welcomes
Cohort #4
We are proud to welcome the fourth, final, and largest cohort of Emory in MOTION scholars These students began their journey with us in August, bringing fresh energy and passion to the program. We look forward to all that lies ahead as they contribute their talents and continue advancing the mission of Emory in Motion.
Already, this cohort has hit the ground running They’ve completed orientations, participated in the annual health fair with Boat People SOS, and some have begun supporting care at the Clarkston Hub. In the coming weeks, they will also serve at the Mexican Consulate, gaining valuable experience in diverse community settings while expanding their skills in mobile health.
2025 BPSOS Health Fair
CommunityPartnershipinAction
For the past 18 years, our partners at Boat People SOS have hosted health fairs to bring vital health services directly to the community. This year marked the fourth year that Emory in Motion scholars joined a dedicated group of Emory students to support the event Together, students provided essential screenings including hearing and vision checks, bone density scans, blood pressure and glucose monitoring, and clinical breast exams. Beyond offering screenings, the experience gave our scholars the opportunity to connect with community members, practice their clinical skills, and deepen their understanding of community-based health initiatives. Their participation reflects our shared commitment to advancing health equity and ensuring that care reaches those who need it most.

As part of this course, they are completing 30 service learning hours, applying classroom concepts in realworld community and mobile health settings.
Cohort 4 MSN students, who are in their first semester, are building a strong foundation in clinical communication and assessment Although they do not yet complete clinical hours, their work this term includes exercises in assessing and addressing patients’ challenges in social determinants of health to better prepare them to work with underserved and rural populations.
Cohort 3 BSN Senior students are focusing on primary care nursing competencies and the integration of primary care delivery within the US healthcare system in the Primary Care Elective course. Through case discussions and interprofessional collaboration, they are exploring the impact of nursing practice on patient outcomes. This course includes 25 simulation hours, including telehealth at our partner sites.
Cohort 3 MSN students are actively engaged in mobile health clinical experiences this semester, completing 80 clinical hours as part of their advanced practice training.
