A Newsletter for Emory Nursing’s Mobile Opportunities for Training and Innovating: Nursing

Fall 2023 Highlights The MOTION Team celebrated the Ribbon Cutting for the new Mobile Health Van at the Ellenton Clinic! The October celebration marked the long awaited launch of mobile van that we allow Ellenton’s Farmworker Mobile Health Program, in collaboration is Emory SON, to expand healthcare services to the Farmworkers in Colquitt County and the surrounding areas.

The Center for Program Evaluation and Quality Improvement presented an outstanding poster, The Long Road to Primary Care Impact: A Framework for Evaluating Mobile Health Initiatives, at the Mobile Healthcare Association Conference! Thanks to Abigail Sanders and the entire team for their hard work and for representing us well in Pittsburgh.

Family Nurse Practitioner Clinical Practicum I

Student Training & Special Activities BSN Juniors (Cohort 2) that did not participate in the fall Poverty Simulation will participate in a spring session. The simulation is designed to promote poverty awareness and provide future nurses with a new perspective on the barriers to quality healthcare that many people face on a daily basis.

MSN students will participate in training activities which include case studies and simulations to create engaging and practical learning experiences that prepare them for the complexities of nursing in mobile environments.

Emory in MOTION aims to expand healthcare in nine underserved Georgia counties. This collaborative effort strengthens nursing skills through hands-on mobile health experiences, making communities healthier and promoting health equity. Mobile health teams are equipped to deliver high-quality healthcare under the guidance of nurses, and nursing students learn to provide quality care with cultural and linguistic sensitivity.
