THESIS
kindergarten - school for 100 children cominc book and architecture project
During this project, I studied the way we teached at school with different education methods. Everything I learned is condenced in a 70 pages comic book I drew entirely.
My master thesis was poited on the question: can architecture serve a teaching method? I designed a kindergarten school in the parisian suburbs. The school can accomodate 100 children, who can wonder freely in the building. Outdoor spaces were particularly developped in this hand drawn project.

FREELANCE PROJECT
Jonathan Bertin - photographer 3D, on site construction, Paris
november 2022
Throwing an exhibition can be difficult and need a lot of upfront work. Jonathan Bertin, a french photographer contacted me to give him a hand on his first exhibition. The mission was to build a 3D model of the gallery based on plans, and to arrange the artist’s photos within the space.
Few back and furth were needed and the pictures were able to be printed. Once everything set, I helped in the gallery with the construction.

construction - 2 weeks workshop scene for a performance in Paris
april 2023
As an architect, we don’t usually take part of the construction of our projects. In order to teach myself building skills, I decided to participate to this construction workshop organized by Théo Finkel (architect) and Mélaine Raulet (choreographer).
During two weeks, I helped building this piece of engineering they designed, both in wood and metal. The construction took place in a fablab in the west of Paris and we used 95% of reused materials.

As my brother is working since ten years, he decided to invest into a studio in our home town next to Paris. As an architect, I took care of the conception and followed the construction of the apartment.
It was my first experience from start to finish as a freelance interior architect. It allowed me to face difficulties and challenges related to the consctruction domain and teached me a lot in this field.
Since I planned to rend this flat and live in it, the experience was very personal. After 3 years living there, I can say it was well build!
I particularly appreciated talking with the construction team and learn new techniques and ways of making things.

The idea within this project was to create a range of street furniture which is developping a link between the two aspects of the site : the city and the nature.
Nine art entities are displayed along the sea shore to reconnect the users to their site, while providing them what they need to be protected from the weather in winter and feel welcomed in summer.

Food has always been important in my family, as a culture. My brother being a chef, we decided to keep memory of the family’s daily recipies.
The objective was to create a project together, and see beyond our daily jobs to discover another field.
Every recipe, photo, text and layout is homemade.

Black box minimalism is a duality of experiences : the one which we show, and the one which we feel.
This first furniture design experience have been really teachfull for me, not only about the practice with the machines and materials, but also and especially having an approach on a design process and way of thinking.
Beyond all the knowledge earned designing and building this project, exhibiting our furnitures in a fair was an amazing experience. Solicit sponsors, organizing the stand and the shipment to another country was very educative.

The project’s objectives are to solve rentability problems and to develop inhabitant’s life to make this neigborhood of Helsinki attractive.
To do so, we decided to erase every wall of the apartment and to condense all the fonctions in a wooden box. However, if the inhabitants want to divide space in another way, some foldable walls are present in the apartment. This technique allows us to have a biggest open space as possible (40m² of living room for a 61m² flat).
Then, to integrate themselfs, the people living in Malminkartano can find two commun buildings in the center of the area with a laundry, a Sauna but also some shared spaces to organize parties and sport classes.

After a year of studies in Aalto University, I understood how sketches could be usefull for a project.
The main goal of this project was to work on mutability. How a space can become an office from a flat without having any construction at all.
To do so, all the rooms were reduced to their basic functions in order to create the biggest neutral open space possible.

Since they are so much free space problems in Paris, we thought it would be illogical to design spaces that would be useful only for a limited time of the day, or year.
Thus, we analysed several occupation rhythms: daily, weekly and by season.
The objective was to maximise space, an optimisation by making the spaces having multiple uses through time.

I based this project on a cubic module of 3m x 3m x 3m. Therefore, functions within apartments are arranged according to the cubic base.
This very simplified system allowed me to create a big amount of different apartments with diversity.
The standardisation of this building allows the inhabitants to personify their apartments, they can choose for example their window or their handrail in a selected catalogue.
