Healthy Lands, Helping Hands As John Muir famously wrote in My First Summer in the Sierra: “When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.” As we reach out to our neighbors in these trying times, we have seen the interdependence between the health of the land and waters of Elkhorn Slough and our larger community — profound connections linking families, education, farming, and conservation. For so many people in our community and around the world, 2020 has been a year of unprecedented challenges.
