Hello! My name is Eleanor Aloisi and I am an architectural associate at Mann Parsons Gray Architects. Through my pursuit of architecture I gained strong passion for graphic design, illustrating, and solving design problems with creative solutions.

Architectural Associate—Mann Parsons Gray Architects | 2022-Present

As an architectural associate, I worked on over 100 projects, including retail spaces and residential architecture. For these projects, I developed detailed plans and drawings using CAD software and worked closely with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering and design into construction document sets.

Kent State Graduate Assistant | 2021

During my time as a graduate assistant at Kent State, I worked in freshman level architecture studios, assistant seven professors with various administrative tasks and giving in depth assistance and critiques to students.

Architectural Intern—UTSA Office of the Facilities | 2020-2021

At the Office of Facilities, I worked under Mr. Benjamin Perry, the University Architect. During this internship, I worked to create a CAD drawing of all the landscape features on campus, as well as design my own for areas that were lacking.

UTSA Extended Education & Downtown Special Events | 2017-2019

While working with Downtown Special Events, I refurbished an older theater with my boss, Jerod Jerry, and learned to use the technical equipment, as well as worked as a stage manager and lighting operator at several events.

Ink Illustrations

These ink and pencil illustrations were all done when I studied abroad in Urbino, Italy. Some of these were done with the subject in front of me, while some were done with photos. In this experience I discovered a love for ink drawing which I continue to incorporate into my design work.

Pencil Illustrations

During my study abroad trip, I experimented with pencil sketched portrtaits, the subjects being myself (pictured lower right) and others in my class (pictured upper right). Upon being sent home, I sketched from my surroundings, such as the airplane interior, which I did on my flight back to Ohio (pictured upper left) and the Lake Erie beach (pictured above and lower left), which was located very close to where my family moved upon my return home.

Upon discovering my newfound love for ink sketching, I designed several stickers, t-shirts, and posters of anthropomorphic animals. For a majority of these I used ink and colored them in photoshop, except for the top right design, which is purely watercolor with a photoshop background.

Scenic Design

I first designed this set for Into The Woods in 2017, which can be seen in the physcial model representation, then revisited the design in 2021, utilizing both traditional and digital skills I acquired since then. In readressing this design, I looked at the looked the logistical side of things.

I storyboarded every scene to create a flow of movement through each platform to the backstage. In recreating the backdrop and side pieces, I envisioned a light board used to light up abstract cut outs of trees in the foreground, and the side pieces were still watercolor painted, but this time inserted into a digital model to stimulate different lighting cues possible for various scenes in the musical. I also utilized projection screens, a concept I began with in the 2017 version, as well as color theory to symbolize the bright beginings of the musical and the dark overtones near the end.
