New development will always occur, following patterns where the property can be purchased inexpensively and sold for a high return. Often this approach gathers investors who want to extract an estimated value from the land with the minimum investment. A short-sighted goal is a missed opportunity.

The opportunity that exists on this site speaks towards louder patterns of development. Where many of the existing buildings have already been cleared, a few pieces of history still sit that we find ways to adapt and repurpose.

- Transforming gutted rowhomes into unique fire protected stair towers. - Salvaging brick rubble for use in gabion basket retaining walls.

When the land is shared, and loved, it inspires community around it. Existing residents are as much apart of the development as the newcomers. The celebration of context and existing neighbors offers new chances to integrate the old with the new.
