Author: Katherine Applegate

Plot: This story is about a silverback gorilla whose name goes by Ivan. He has two friends, a dog named Bob and an elephant named Stella. When a new baby elephant comes into a new domain, things change.

My review: The book’s author Katherine Applegate made such good descriptions in this book. I feel like I'm in the scenes and see what the picture looks like. In addition, the character description is amazing. For example, she describes how Bob is so fast and active. The story itself is amazing.

Rating: One of the best books I ever read!

One day Bob was bored. It was pouring rain. Then he saw a puddle. So he went outside and played in the puddle. Then over time the puddle turned from a puddle to a muddy puddle. When he came back, he was covered with mud and then his mom told him to take a bath. He played in the bath and then climbed out all clean. While His mom was getting his clean clothes, Bob was hungry. So he went downstairs and got a bar of chocolate. “Yum!” he thought. By the time his mom came back, he was covered with chocolate. Time for another bath!

Season Celebration

The students at E.H.B. held a poll to find out the students’ favorite season. The grades interviewed were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

When interviewing students, our favorite part was seeing students enthusiastically reply to the questions. It showed they really cared.

And the winner….Summer Won! Summer was the favorite season for half of the students asked. Winter was the second favorite with 25%. Spring and Fall were about the same.

It is easy to see how summer won since it is hot and there is no school. Winter is popular too because there are many holidays in winter and many people like to play in the snow or go skating and skiing. We think Fall and Spring lost because more people are interested in the cold and heat. They are somewhere in the middle.

I got back home in a daze. First day of school, kids already broke my glasses. My hair’s all messed up, and there’s a rip in my new backpack. I can still taste the toilet water from fifth-period break. All in all, I think this is an improvement over last year.

Thank God my Text-To-Speech isn’t broken from the 10-foot journey it had to take down the hallway stairs. I think It would’ve killed itself by now.

“How was your first day?” Max asked, rolling up to me in her wheelchair.1

“Probably better than yours!” I beep. She fake-laughed to cheer me up; thinks I can’t tell the difference.

“I believe you, but what I meant was the highlights. Out of all the nonsense Jacob and his buddies give you, did you make a new friend?”

1 * Yes, I know that the disabled kid is the hero of every story (believe me, I read,) but not this time. I’m just the lump of flesh your mother keeps comparing you to.

“No, unless you count the Janitor. The middle school is so much bigger than A.S.E., how do you get around?” That took me a while to type, but she got the message.

“Janet pushes me. I even get to use the elevator for band and math when I have to go up.” She answers.

“Lucky.”

I might’ve jumped too far into this entry; way too fast. Here’s a list of some things that might help you better understand this.

“What I could be,” “what I would’ve done,” and “How I could’ve changed,” are quite common things people think to themselves when they're alone. What they could be is always going to haunt each and every individual that doesn’t believe in themself.

When I was about 4 years old, I didn't know father had died. I just sat there every day by the door, waiting for big arms to pick me up and a bushy beard to scratch my face, but nothing. Mother was usually in her room; I think she was crying. A small Maryland apartment sat there, filled with tears, sorrow, and a tiny kid with no reason to speak. I learned to pack my school bag and get ready in the morning and had some bigger kids from my grade (Jacob) help me on the bus to the sad old block of cement we call class. Every day after school, I would trot my tiny legs to our apartment, knock on the door, and wait for a crumbling woman to answer, make me sad eggs or gloomy oatmeal2, and go back to sobbing. Eventually, men came to put me in an orphanage. I don’t know how my mother died. I’d say she killed herself if anyone asked.

My Fun Day

One day, I was with my mom’s sister (TT is her name in the story) and her son. Soon we got hungry and went to the Cheesecake Factory. When we ordered, it took like one hour to get our food. We kept waiting patiently. While we were waiting, TT and my cousin were trying to teach me Spanish. I had so much fun laughing and learning. Once the food finally came, we all ate. I did not like my food that much so my cousin let me have some of his food. Soon we asked for the check and that too took a long time to get our table. Why so long, we all thought. Then we had a big surprise. When the waiter came with the bill, he said we get it all FREE!!!

Can you believe it? This was one of the best days of my life! Spending time with my family and getting a nice surprise at the end was a day I will never forget.

Fruit Fiasco

A poll to find out more about students' favorite fruits was at E.H.B. Long story short, Strawberries won! The following grades were included: 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Looking at our results, almost half of grades 3 - 5 prefer strawberries. 21% preferred apples, 16% chose blueberries, and 14% bananas.

When interviewing the students, we were nervous. But the more classes we interviewed, the more comfortable we were. We think bananas lost because they are overshadowed by other fruits. Also, their taste has less moisture than the other fruits. Please note that some students were not available while we were interviewing so maybe the results would have been different..

My First Sleepover

One day, my friend suggested to me about doing a sleepover. I always wanted a sleepover and this would be my first! I was so excited! I wanted it to be at my house but my parents refused. So I had to stick with it. We played all day. But when it was night time, I was so used to sleeping with my mom or dad, I didn't know what it was like to not be with them. At first, I tried to sleep with my friend, but then I decided I wanted to go home to sleep with my mom. I just felt I was more safe. I told my friend. My friend’s aunt was there and she had a great idea. She suggested that we sleep in the guest room so it would be more fun and less scary. I decided to try it. I got ready to sleep and I felt ok. So I slept in the guest room. The next morning, I ate breakfast with my friend. We played but then I had to go home. We said bye and then I went home. It was the best sleepover ever and I will never forget it.

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there was a boy. A boy who dreamed of sailing the seven seas. When he was not at home, he talked for hours and hours about leading a crew and sailing to new lands. One day, he wished upon a star that when he would grow up, he would be a sailor. Many years passed and now the boy was 15. He begged his parents every hour of the day to go out to the seas. Every time he asked his parents, they said no. He asked them once more and they

FINALLY said they would let him sail on the seven seas on his 16th birthday. The boy was OVERJOYED.

The boy's birthday was the most exciting moment in his life. It was the day he could finally sail! He had been sitting in the corner of this room anxiously waiting every night for the day to arrive for 10 years!

The boy went sailing every day from that point on. He encountered some very hard moments. He once got stranded on an island with no supplies, but he got out by making a boat with a tree from the island. He also studied sea life and often fished. He was a very happy man who would always be smiling.

He soon became a widely known sailor who would always be discovering new islands. He sailed the seas as Captain Иванов who sailed through horrible hurricanes. He had a very eventful life as a sailor.

Soccer

Soccer is the best sport! I love soccer because you can kick the ball, or you can be a goalie and block a goal or you could dribble the ball. To be a good soccer player, you need to really practice. Then you will be able to score more goals, block more goals and dribble better than before.

In soccer, you have to kick the ball and try to score. It is so much fun to shoot the ball and to kick it really hard. Or if you do a really cool trick and score, you will be really proud. If you nutmeg the goalie, it will be really funny.

Nutmeg means when the ball goes through the goalie’s legs. The best thing in soccer is when you celebrate. The other team will be really annoyed.

If you are the goalie and if you block a goal, you will be really proud of yourself. Your teammates will hug you tightly. Even if you did not block a goal, your teammates will cheer you up. If you do a super save, people will shout

out your name.The best part is if someone tackles you inside the box, your team will get a penalty shot.

If you are a defense or a forward, you need to dribble the ball. Dribbling is when you are pushing the soccer ball to make more chances to score a goal. When you are good at dribbling, you can do a dribbling skill called ‘‘Scissors’’ which you could do if you cross your foot across the ball. Or you could do other cool dribbling skills in soccer too.

These are the main things in soccer that I love to practice. My favorite is stopping goals because it is so much fun. What is your favorite position in soccer?

It had just ended,but the only thing she heard was her panting.She wished that summer would start now.Just as she started on Paris Lane,the street where her school was,she heard more clicking.Louder and louder and LOUDER until something catched her shoulders.“Hi,Felicity,”she barely managed to say.Felicity jumped beside her and giggled,her short pink hair spinning.“Are you exhausted from the soccer competition?”Rosaline smiled and said,“I guess you could say that.”Felicity thought for a moment,then her majestic purple eyes grew wide as the moon.“Hey Rose,it's Friday.”Felicity exclaimed.Rosaline threw Felicity a curious look.“So?”she asked.Felicity grinned.We always have them on Fridays!”she squealed. It only took a second for Rose to realize.“Oh yes,Cece!”she happily said. “Ok,here’s the plan,”Cece said.“We first go home and we’ll tell our parents. Rosie,you pack your stuff and come here,while I tell mom and dad that you and I are having a sleepover.”she explained.Rose checked her glittery scarlet apple watch.“School ended 15 minutes ago,”she said briskly.“And that means we better hurry,”added Cece.Felicity gestured towards a beautiful white house,which happened to be Rose’s.Rose grinned and called,“See you later!”

Rose dashed into the kitchen.“Hey mom! Hi dad!”she yelled.She didn’t have to talk about her and Cece’s talk.Her dad had already guessed.“Are you packing up for a sleepover?”he asked.Rose smiled.“Of course.”Her mom nodded.“Well,hurry and pack up-it's been 17 minutes since school ended.” she chuckled.With a smile,Rose raced upstairs.“Sleeping bag,flashlight, pajamas,cash,a cute shirt,sporty shorts,extra socks,hair brush,some sleeping lotion,phone charger,toothbrush and toothpaste…She

finished packing and changed out of her uniform into a pink crop top and short jeans.

Rose hurried to Cece’s house.She instantly rang the doorbell.“Hey!”said Cece.“C’mon in!”Rose grinned and followed Cece.“So,”Cece said, “wanna go to the town forest?”Rose nodded.“Just say hi to my Grandma,”Cece said. Rose’s red-looking-but-actually-amber eyes glowed.Grandma Natalia greeted Rose warmly.“It’s so nice to see you again,Rosaline.”she said.Rose blushed. “Now hurry and have fun cause I really don't want to bother you.” The two 4th grade girls burst out laughing.They decided to head out to their town park-which had the beautiful forest.They had a pleasant walk when Rose pointed out a grassy trapdoor.“I wonder if they covered it in grass to blend in with the forest?”Cece wondered aloud.Rose,who liked to be active,tugged on Cece.“Let’s check it out!”she exclaimed.Cece nodded slowly.They pulled on the trapdoor.It finally burst open with rainbow light.The girls were immediately pulled inside the trapdoor.When they opened their eyes they saw the most fabulous city in their life.Clear skies,shining buildings,the scent of cinnamon buns floating in the air.

The most unusual thing was the people.They looked like regular humans,but in shining clothes and glowing hair colors.Purple,pink,blue, ruby,emerald,all sorts of colors for their hair.Just as they closed their mouths,two girls about their age glided over to them.“What is your name?” The first girl asked.For a few seconds,neither of them talked.Cece said,“My name is Felicity Katrina Williams and this is my friend Rosaline Serenity Johnson.Please call us Cece and Rose.”The first girl nodded.“Hello.My name is Rubellite.This is my friend Emerald.You may call us Emmie and Ruby. Welcome to Starlight Soulia,the one and only place where everyone’s soul lives.Perhaps we could find your souls.”the second girl said thoughtfully.

“Just tell us your two most passionate colors.”Emerald added.There was a moment of silence.Cece and Rose thought hard as they stared at the

shimmering clothes Emerald and Rubellite wore.Ruby wore a scarlet crop top,short jeans,ruby colored air jordans,star shaped ruby earrings,a few golden bracelets with one ruby bracelet shining,and had glowing hair half tied the color of a ruby.Emmie had natural glowing emerald hair shoulder length.She wore a teal t-shirt,purple skirt, the color of nature,emerald and purple platforms,heart shaped silver earrings,silver bracelets with one particular emerald one shining.“Red or Scarlet!”Rose exclaimed.“Purple or turquoise for me!”Cece replied confidently.Emmie and Ruby started whispering.

“Maybe Charlotte,she loves red…it could be Aqua…"Emerald whispered. They both nodded at each other,like they were going to do something special.Ruby asked,“Okay then…is there anything you always have with you no matter what? Like Emerald and I have bracelets-every soul has one.” For a second,Cece and Rose looked confused.Then Cece replied,“Well,I have a green star clip.When I was six,for my birthday,my Grandma Natalia gave me this clip cause I loved green.It’s really rare,so I guard it with my life.” Rose got encouraged and spoke slowly.“Mine is this necklace.It’s a ruby.I love it! I had a friend that gave it to me before she moved away.”After hearing this,Ruby exclaimed,“We are your souls! Rose is my soul,and Cece is Emmie’s!”Cece and Rose gasped.

“Now we have one favor to ask you,”Ruby said.“Queen Crystal and King Robert have a problem.The king’s Grandfather,who was once the king of our kingdom,left our current king with a riddle,which will upgrade our kingdom.Although,the royals cannot solve it.By sunrise next Wednesday,if we do not have the answer,Starlight Soulia will disappear.”explained Emmie. “We can still try to help!”piped up Cece.So they went to the palace and after greeting the royal family,Cece and Rose sat on a comfy couch with Emmie and Ruby,waiting for the riddle.Finally,Queen Crystal came in and asked,“Are you ready?”The four girls cried out “Totally!”in unison.Queen

Crystal took a deep breath.“What breaks as soon as you say its name?” she questioned.For a moment,the four girls stared and thought hard.“Ok, we know that it breaks when you say it,”Emmie stated.“So it must be something extremely fragile.”Ruby noted.“What about glass?”Cece asked. “If you scream too loud,it breaks.”Rose looked thoughtful.“Well,according to the riddle,it’s say,not scream.”Emmie nodded.Ruby asked,“How about air?”Cece looked outside,hearing a girl scream in delight.“But the air doesn’t break when you say it,”she pointed out.Suddenly,an idea popped into Rose’s head.“I know! Silence! Silence is when everything is quiet,so when you say silence,it breaks because that’s noise!”Emmie and Cece high-fived each other.Ruby squealed.“Hurry,Emmie,let’s go get Queen Crystal and King Robert!”5 minutes later,Queen Crystal and King Robert came in,tense faces.

Queen Crystal had a scroll with an ocean colored ink bottle,and a golden feather.Emmie looked at Ruby,who nodded and glanced at Cece, who nudged Rose.

“Silence,”Rose said.“It breaks when you say it.”Queen Crystal looked at King Robert,who nodded.Queen Crystal set it down on the table near the couch and opened the ocean blue ink bottle,dipped the golden feather in it,and opened the scroll.There was a fancy looking box decorated with all colors and types of flowers.In the box,she wrote “Silence”in cursive.A burst of light came out of the box,and a soothing woman’s voice said,“Well done.Starlight Soulia is upgraded.”Then the voice and the scroll were gone. Queen Crystal cheered happily and hugged Cece and Rose,while King Robert shook hands with Ruby and Emmie.Soon,the entire kingdom heard and was talking about the success.“I don’t know how to thank you,”King Robert said.“You don’t have too,”Rose replied.“Well,we made you something in return!”Queen Crystal said,beaming.

King Robert whistled,and two purple fairies in skirts came in carrying

a pillow.Laying on top of it were two bracelets for Cece and Rose.Rose’s bracelet was a glowing golden one,with a special ruby glimmering in the middle,followed by smaller ruby stones.Cece’s was a shimmering silver bracelet,with a glowing emerald in the middle,followed by smaller emerald stones.“You will now be part of Starlight Soulia forever,”concluded Queen Crystal.Cece and Rose thanked the royals,said goodbye,and headed out back into the city,where Emmie and Ruby were waiting for them.They reached the portal,and Emmie and Ruby hugged Cece and Rose.“See you next time!”said Emmie.“We'll miss you,”Ruby added.

The Imagination of Lego!

“Even though you're growing up you should never stop having fun,” said Canadian actress Nina Dobrev. When I read this I think of when my whole family enjoyed Legoland. I love Legoland! There are many fun things to do, there are cool builds, and there are many stores.

Certainly, this enormous amusement park has lots of fun things to do. For example, there are lots of rides. There is a roller coaster called The Dragon, and there is a ride called Rogue Riders. I remember when I was waiting in line to ride Rogue Rider.“Auntie, Jeewonne, and Byungchan are going so fast!” I whispered as I was trembling in fear. “It’s ok I’m going to be with you on the ride.” replied my aunt. When their ride was over it was our turn. I hopped onto the ride and sat down. “3,2,1 go!” exclaimed the worker. “Ahhhhhhh!” I screamed. I was relieved that I was with my aunt. I was in between her knees getting splashed with water. When the ride was done my aunt was so dizzy and wet. I was running all over the place trying to dry up. I asked my aunt, “Can we go again pretty please.” “ Sure!” she replied, which made me jump up and down with excitement. I couldn’t wait to go again with my cousins.

Another example is that there are pools. You can cannonball inside and do a splash fight with friends and family. Finally, you can make your own personalized mini Lego figure. You can make a knight or a princess, or you can even make one that looks like you. This proves that Legoland has lots of fascinating creations. You will soon find that this delightful place has lots of extraordinary structures. For instance, there is a Lego structure of Yankee Stadium. The miniature Yankee athlete even moves. Another instance is they built Lego games like the horse race game. You press the button of your horse color as fast as you can. Whoever gets to the finish line first wins. I’ll never forget the time I tried the horse race game. “Whoa!”, exclaimed my brother Paul. “What, what is it!?” I exclaimed. Paul pointed at four horses and buttons. “Can we play it please?” he begged. “Ok, but whoever wins gets to eat cotton candy” my parents responded. Paul, my cousins, and I pressed the button as fast as we could. “YES!!” I exclaimed. I was jumping up and down. “I’m going to eat the cotton candy, yay!”, I exclaimed. “Not fair”, Paul whined. My parents handed me the sweet cotton candy. I was looking at the others and I decided to share with them. “ Your so nice Hailey”, beamed my mom and dad. This also included the structure of New York City that lights up at night. If you come at night the Lego structure is

like a mini nightlight. This shows that this exciting park has lots of Lego structures.

This fascinating place has many stores. For example, there are gift shops. Some sections have giant Lego sets. You can even get a stuffed animal. Also, there are drink shops. Kids can get beverages like Fanta, lemonade, fruit punch, and Sprite. I will never forget the time when lemonade saved my life. I was walking all around the place looking at all the stops. “Mom can we take a break on the bench I’m exhausted,” I asked my mom. “Okay, but dad is going to be here in a few minutes so we are going to have to get up.” replied my mom. A few minutes later. We spotted my dad. I was so thirsty my mouth was like a desert. I saw a cup in my dad’s hand. “I got lemonade!”, exclaimed my dad. I ran as fast as I could. Grabbed the cup and gulp gulp gulp. The lemonade was so refreshing. “ Thanks, dad!” I exclaimed. While we were walking back to our car I was still holding onto the cup of lemonade I had. Another example is Lego shops. There are aisles full of Lego keychains, 5,000-piece Lego sets, and more. This illustrates that there are no other parks with this many stores.

As can be seen, these are the reasons why I love Legoland. I love the fascinating things you can do, the amazing rides, and last but not least the gigantic stores. I realized that I know more about Legoland than I knew I did.

Math is really fun! It is so much better than social studies. One reason is that addition is easy and fun. Math problems are my most favorite thing to solve! Practice makes perfect! I would suggest practicing math because it’s like a game and it’s so easy and fun!

Another reason that math is the best is that you can learn so much and more! There’s multiplication, division, measuring, and so much more. It’s like never ending because in every grade you learn new things.

The last reason is it’s so much fun to measure things with rulers. Anybody like to measure? Try it! It’s fun to see how big or small things are when you measure them. I love using rulers and guessing how big something will be.

School is my favorite place to go! When it’s not math time but a subject like social studies, it gets boring sometimes. Math time is when all the fun happens! That's why math is better than social studies! Hope you agree with me!

I love Social Studies so much more than math! It is a much better subject. I love it because I get to write a whole lot. I like writing in social studies because it is so exciting.

Another reason is that I like going on the computer and sometimes we use computers in social studies. It is so much fun to go on the computer and try to get better at typing. I also like to read on the computer.

The last reason why I love social studies is that we get to work with a partner. I like working with a partner because it is fun to learn together. We also learn about maps and the world and we also can color. I am always so happy when we get to work with a partner in social studies. You do not get to have so much fun in math. It is all numbers, numbers, numbers which can get boring. I think social studies is way better. What do you think?

The question everyone asks is why do dogs spy on you? We do not know why though. But I can tell you about spy dogs! I have three reasons. The first reason is they are SUS. The second reason about a spy dog is you know you always have to watch out! The third reason about spy dogs is you always have to look if your dog is spying on you… Well who knows!? I say… No one! Basement Surprise

The craziest thing happened to me last week when I was eating breakfast in my pajamas. Here's what happened: I was eating my pancakes. They were like soft sweet heaven. Then… it happened. WHIIIIIIIRRR! My mom and I looked all around but we….saw… NOTHING. Then we knew where it came from… my dad's top secret……LAB/the basement! Mom said not to be scared because it’s probably dad making a new invention.But I reminded her: DadIsn't home!It was so scary. My mom said she needed to go to the supermarket, but I knew she was scared. Then I realized I needed to do the LAUNDRY!!! AND THE LAUNDRY WAS NOT JUST DOWNSTAIRS BUT… THE BASEMENT!! take the phone away from my ear! I guess I have to, I thought. I went halfway down the stairs. No I can’t, mustn't, I wouldn't but…I had to… “One…Two…Three…Four…Five…Six…Seven…Eight…” I counted in my head as I held a sharp pencil in both hands, shaking as I went down. I opened the door that said: Restrictedarea!Nooneallowed, evenfamily!!!

“OH NO!!!” I said accidentally in a faint whisper, taking a step away. “It can’t be. It…It won’t be!” (GASP!) I said putting one foot on the stairs ready to run up them. If you’re wondering: Well what is it? What’s all the drama? Then here it is…The letters spelling Restricted area! Noone allowed, even family was written in what seemed to be blood It…was…horrible!!! Then I thought who would put laundry in here anyway…?” WHHHIIIIRRRRRR… I heard it again and looked around. Where did it come from? Then when I found out. I wished I didn’t. It came from…the lab! I was horrified! Then I found a little hole in the door. It fit my eye perfectly. I peeked right

through it. I saw a lab, a lab with potions all smashed in different places. It was like sitting on a rainbow, yet very crrreeeeeeeeppppyy! I finally opened the door but it was locked. I remembered that in the movies people used bobby pins to open locked doors! “Yes! It’s genius!” I whispered as I took the bobby pin out of my hair and picked the lock. Finally the door opened. I looked around. It was a room big enough to fit a bunch of elephants! WHAM!! “Oof!” I said. Then I looked at what it was… “Fluffy!” I stared at my dog. He was wet but with green water. A potion maybe? Then he started flying! “ Did you roll in dad’s potions and get powers?” I asked him. He just stood there and stared. “I’m gonna take that as a yes.” I went to the door. I wiped the “blood” with my finger and then licked it. “Hey! This is Mom’s strawberry jam!” I said relieved. I went back upstairs just as Mom came home and so did Dad. We all sat down for dinner. We had McDonalds for dinner! Then Mom and Dad went downstairs. “YOU DIDN’T DO THE LAUNDRY!” Mom screamed so loudly that the whole neighborhood could hear. “Uh oh,” I said to Fluffy. “WHAT HAPPENED TO MY LAB?!” Dad shouted through the microphone. “Double uh oh!” I said.

My review: This book is awesome. The characters are Nikki (main character), Mackenzie (Nikki's frenemy), Chloe (Nikki’s bestie), Zoey (another one of Nikki’s besties), and Brandon (Nikkis crush). In the beginning, Nikki finds out she's going to a different school as her friends for exchange week and she's going to be with her frenemy, Mackenzie. In the middle of the story Nikki got accused of stealing a teacher's book when another girl did it. The solution is that the teacher gave her a warning. I like this book because it's funny. For example, at the end of the book Nikki went horseback riding. One horse was left and his name was Buddy. She stared at him and called him an evil horse because everyone didn't want to ride him. From behind her, Tiffany called that pony a nasty ugly beast. Nikki was so mad that steam was coming out of her ears but it was coming from somewhere else too! Buddy’s backside! “That pony smells like he has eaten 19 cans of baked beans and 7 really dirty, stinky sweaty gym socks.” I love this book!

Mary put the squirrel under the table. John placed the cake on top of the table. But Mary did not lock the cage door. Then the squirrel smelled something sweet. The squirrel opened the cage,and climbed out carefully so the cake would not fall. When the squirrel saw the cake, the squirrel thought it was the most beautiful acorn and started to eat it happily. As he ate, he made a hole inside the cake. And when John sliced the cake in half, there was the hole! And in the hole, there was the squirrel! The squirrel went back inside his cage with pieces of cake falling all around him. John was so embarrassed that John ran away from Mary. Mary called John and asked him if he still wanted to marry her. John said, ``YEAH!!!`` And so, they got married that day, and they lived happily ever after….with their cake-loving squirrel too.

The Four Extremely Nefarious Hamsters…

Once upon a time, there were super cute hamsters. Their names were Sneaky, Mischivi, Catastrophe, and... Clumsy! Yes. Clumsy. But they were all super-duper mischievous. When an elderly lady saw the four adorable hamsters, she said, "Awwwwww, why don't you little ones come inside?" Then, after she said that, the four hamsters got a plan up their sleeves. They got inside and sat by the fire, and it was late at night. Then they fell asleep immediately. The next morning, they woke up early and destroyed all of her stuff. They broke all her furniture and cut the power line. But the last thing they wanted was to ruin her laundry. The rule was to find every piece of laundry somewhere. They climbed her laundry line, but Clumsy almost fell. Sneaky had to save him. All of them pulled, but then all of them almost fell, and Clumsy got stuck on the laundry line. They rest of them finally fell and passed out as Clumsy held on. Clumsy was relieved, but then the lady woke up and she said, "WHAT HAPPENED OVER HERE?!?" "They did it," Clumsy said. "Oh, thank you. YOU GUYS ARE GROUNDED!!!”

Oh.That was simple. They were kicked out, and Clumsy had a way better life.

Have you ever come home from a long day and thought to yourself, "I could've done so much more with my day." You have 13-16 hours of awake time per day, but do you make the most of it? Astrocytes, or "Giving up cells," in the human brain, as well as the anterior insula, are in charge of rest and relaxation. But what can you do to improve your day-to-day life? Making someone's day or even improving your own are simple tasks; it's just that people in the 2020s don't see an hour as an opportunity to eat healthy, journal, or pursue a hobby. Here are some ideas to help you make the most of your day.

Eating healthy

A human body cannot survive on junk food from TV binges and school lunches alone. Although many people do keep on a steady diet, going the extra mile and picking up a cucumber every once in a while will do you wonders. The average American watches 1-4 hours of television per day, and 70% of people snack on sugary foods. High-calcium orange juice, cucumbers, and tomatoes are all excellent sources of the right kind of sugars for your body.

Journaling

Rather than scrolling through social media, why not try creating your own "Story?" Simply grab a piece of paper or a

notepad and a pencil, and write whatever comes to mind. You can doodle, write about your day, or make up a story! Doodling in your spare time has been shown in studies to boost your creativity and handwriting skills by up to 30%! Most young adults in the United States spend 2 ½ hours per day on social media, and while most readers are much younger, knowing this can help you prepare for the future.

Hobbies

Excellent if you participate in extracurricular activities! Most of these after-school classes are held away from home, and most people do not continue their education outside of the designated area. If you're learning an instrument, taking dance lessons, or participating in exercise-related activities, try adding an extra hour to your weekly schedule. Even if it's in Mr. Mello's music class, 71% of this generation will learn an instrument at some point in their lives. With just an hour a week and some spare excitement, you can take anything that interests you to the next level! A day in your life can be spent doing many easy, productive things. For example, eating healthy sugars and taking time to write out what’s on your mind are both great pastimes. Additionally, “hobbying” (or engaging in leisure activities that you enjoy) is a great way to pass the time and make a day better!
