My Trip To Korea

In the summer, I went to Korea. In the plane, my mom, dad, my brother and I were all watching tv on our seats. “I am so excited!” I told my mom. After a little bit, it was time for lunch. My meal was some meat and rice. After eating, I kept on watching tv for hours and hours as the total trip to Korea was so long! “We are finally here!” I exclaimed when we landed.

After we got off the plane, we were at a airport waiting for our stuff. That took a while! Then we got in a taxi and went to our hotel. Our hotel room was so cool because there were three rooms. We put our bags down, and though I was tired from the long flight, I was so happy! We finally made it to Korea!

Wrestler

There was a kid named Daryl, and he was really good at wrestling. He loved it! One day his parents signed him up for a tournament on a piece of wrinkled paper. Tthey were at another tournament when they signed Daryl up for another wrestling match. When he was in the car he thought, Oh my God I’m sooo excited!

“Are we there yet?” Daryl kicked his mom’s chair while his enthusiasm kept running like a freight train. “We will be there soon, but while we’re in here. Can you please stop kicking my chair?!” Daryl’s mom questioned him with a bit of anger. ”I know you’re excited but I need to focus too.” Daryl’s mom looked up and waved her fists up and down. He kept asking until they were at the high school. He then was going to set up. He was training with his friends when they had to start running and somebody started looking at him with big beady eyes, but Daryl just kept running. Later, he had to wrestle his first match. He had to go against Raphael Lormer. Daryl saw that Raphael Lormer was practicing an arm bar to a pin. Daryl studied Raphael with a lot of seriousness. He wondered, How can I stop an armbar to a pin? I know! I could do a reverse and try to pin him.

Wrestler

Daryl thought with his fists on his cheeks and he thought about other ways he could try to pin his opponent, Raphael. Daryl then had to walk up to the front desk and tell the guys there his name. He said it slowly so that every word and letter sounded serious, very serious. “D-a-r-y-l Magger….”

Daryl then walked up to the mat and made a fierce face so that he could try to scare Raphael out of his shorts.

Daryl saw that the scare attempt was working already, Daryl thought, Alrighty then, this is the moment of truth, where a man shows what he’s made of. T hen Daryl said, “I’m your worst nightmare, grrrrrr….” The referee said, “Shake hands,” Then the referee called out “Wrestle!!”

Daryl immediately tried to do a fake shot, but it didn’t work. Then Raphael made a grunt while he tried to take a shot. Next Raphael was stuck on bottom, and Daryl pulled off a spladle! That was a move Daryl’s dad taught him and he was still learning it but he pulled it off! Then the match was over since Daryl pulled off a pin and ended the match, Daryl hooted like a gorilla and pounded his fists against his chest. Daryl swept a strand of his messy samurai ponytail and straightened his singlet. Daryl was off to the next round!

Wrestler

Daryl then had to wrestle Cameron Kinnko, a pretty close friend of his. Both of them were pretty good wrestlers. For the weight of 93 pounds, Daryl was wrestling for Sparta. Sparta had a lot of history in sparring. The team name was The Sparta Spartans. Cameron was wrestling for Rutherford. Then they had to go to the front desk to tell their names, Daryl then said to the guys at the front desk, “Daryl Magger, with a y. “ The Cameron had to speak, “Cameron Kinnko.” They had to go to the mat and shake hands, but since they were friends, instead of shaking hands, they hugged and wished each other “good luck beating me.” The sound of them both slapping their back sounded grand. It was loud and fierce. Then they were off! Daryl first had the lead of six points, but Cameron was catching up. Soon it was 15 to 5, Daryl was winning by ten! The match ended in the 4th quarter, and Daryl won with a final score of 17-6, Daryl had won! But Cameron told Daryl three things. “Who you have up ahead will be the most roughest toughest wrestler you’ve ever faced! Oh, and also I’ll see you in your match, and good luck.”

Wrestler

Daryl had to fill up on energy. He had a tough match up ahead, and he was resting to get energy and the only thing he had in his mind so far was eat food, take a nap, and win!

Daryl got a bowl of mac and cheese for a little meal to hold him for the match. It tasted cold and bitter. Daryl’s dad told him, “If you happen to find yourself in a single-leg position, shoot a spladle. Also, try to win! This is the championship. You have take all the marbles and roll them into striking position!” Daryl’s dad continued to direct him loudly.

“Roll all my marbles into striking position?” Daryl said with confusion.

“Yeah, it’s a funny oldies saying from back in my day.” Daryl’s dad acknowledged. “It means that when you have the chance, utilize that chance.”

Daryl said that he did not want to eat anymore mac and cheese. He didn’t usually like the taste of something bitter, so Daryl asked his mom and dad for a couple of dollars and bought himself a trusty ‘ol donut. His motto was “Ya can’t go wrong with donuts!”

Then it was time… Wrestle!

It was time to wrestle. Daryl had trained his whole life for this, Daryl thought, Alrighty, I can’t mess up. My friend

Wrestler

is watching live, an….

THIS IS THE STATES!!! WHAT AM I THINKING!!!

Daryl walked up to the counter and told them his name, “Daryl Magger, with a y.”

Then his opponent had to speak, “Justin kipper,” Then the referee yelled, “WRESTLE!!!”

Then they were off. Daryl was against somebody who had won states four times, just like Daryl. Now it was the tiebreaker for who is solidified as the better wrestler. Daryl breathed in slowly. It smelled bittersweet in the pungent aroma around the gym. It was the match everyone was watching. Daryl was already being beaten by 14 points to zero, but, 1….2….3!!! It was a spladle by Daryl Magger!!! It was a win! Daryl was the best wrestler in all of the USA!!! A nine year old who beat an eleven year old, two years younger more energy! Daryl swept another strand of his messy ponytail, but it was unfixable. Daryl looked at the opponent with his green eyes of fury. He looked almost like a dinosaur with scars from scraping his knees on the mat, and his hand completely drenched in pure sweat. A wrestling tyrant who came down from the champion. Daryl came down a wrestling legend, and from there on, Daryl was never sad again.

Why Everyone Should Have a Pet

Are you thinking of getting a pet but are not sure if it is a good idea? Today you are going to read about pets and why everyone should have one. Pets are great because they can comfort you, teach you responsibility and make you laugh and have fun.

Pets can comfort you by keeping you company. If you are alone and bored, your pet can always entertain you. They can also comfort you by sitting on your lap. Did you know that dogs can sense if you are hurt or sad? They are also like a stuffed animal that are so fluffy and cute making you feel happy.

Having a pet is good because they can teach you to be responsible. You always have to remember to give them food when it is on their schedule. You also have to make sure they eat what is good for them. Sometimes pets want foods that are not good for them. If they are making a cute face and you wantto give them that food, you

have to remind yourself that you can’t. That means being responsible. You also have to be responsible and walk them twice a day. Maybe you don’t want to go out in the cold but you need to because you are being a responsible pet owner.

Pets are great because they make you laugh when they get into trouble and look so cute that you cannot punish them. When they chew up a toy and there is cotton everywhere, you have to clean it up but it makes you laugh. When you play a game with them, they jump on you because they are so competitive trying to win.Or maybe just watching them play on their own makes you happy. Their personalities makes you smile and enjoy their company.

To conclude, even though pets are a lot of work, you should still get them to keep you company when you are sad or alone, to teach you to be more responsible and to make you have fun with them and laugh. They are worth the effort!

The Shoes

“Bye mom,” I said. I was going to my friend's house for a sleepover. “Remember, don’t buy new shoes from the Wss!” My mom warned me. I walked down the path near County Road with my friends. I have been dying for ultra-mega solar powered shoes. They were only in the most famous shoe store, the WSS (aka Wacky Shoe Store). They were red and white extendable sneakers. I walked across the street when I found them. "First addiction…sweet!" I yelled. "Well, go get them!" my friends said. I walked into the WSS thinking about what my mom said. I saw that they were $10,000! I took out my wallet and bought the shoes. I walked outside wearing the red and white extendable sneakers. My friends and I broke up and went our separate ways.

I began walking home when the shoes started walking on their own! They took me up Lexington Ave, down to Concord Street, and straight up the hill! I tried to take them off, but I couldn't get out of my shoes. They were stuck to me. I tried to sit down but couldn't. My legs were sweaty. My hands shook right and left. I passed an old lady who also

got stuck to the shoes! "Ahhhhhhh! You crazy girl! Get me off of these shoes!" the old lady screamed.

"I'm sorry, but I can't!" I replied.

The shoes started to make another pair! They stuck onto the old lady's shoes and the lady ran away! Itwaslikeitcreateda baby!I thought.

Later, the shoes passed my friend's house and finally stopped. I told my friend Mia what happened, but she didn’t believe me. My friend replied, "That's nonsense! How can that ever happen?" I told her it was true, but she didn't believe me. Then, she got stuck to the shoes too! Itmadeanotherbaby!I thought "Do you believe me now?" I asked her. She ran over screaming "Yeeeeesssss"

The shoes quickly spreaded. Everyone was out of control! Even me! My mom looked out the window of her car and saw everyone going crazy!

"What is the meaning of this, Noga?" I looked at my mom and told her what happened. "I told you to not get those shoes this morning!"

"Yeah I know. Do you know how to get them off?" I asked her. She replied "Yes. All you have to do is outsmart them."

Outsmartthem?Thatseemseasyenough.Right?I thought to myself.

The shoes climbed up a tree and came to a stop. These shoesseemedlikeregularshoesnow.I thought to myself.

Sitting on the tree gave me an excellent idea. I climbed down and started dancing. The shoes didn't know where to go or where they were! When I jumped, the shoes ran off. "Finally!!!!! They're off!" I yelled. All the shoes came off of everyone and began to disappear one by one. The shop owner grabbed the shoes and put them in his bag. Then he came and told me what these shoes were. “Those shoes are a one of a kind mystery. We are selling them because we want to see how it works, and you are our first customer who didn’t know what those shoes really are! Isn’t that splendid?”

My eyes went up and down. I slapped my hand against my forehead. At that point, I started chasing the shoe owner! He grabbed the wacky shoes from his bag and put them on. I got stuck to them, and it started all over again.

Book Review

My favorite book series is Warrior Cats by

YOUMUST READ WARRIOR CATS

There are many in this series. The first is called Into the Wild: The Prophecies Begin. This book is about cats at war because of the small amount of food there is in the forest. The clans are Thunderclan, Windclan, Shadowclan, and Riverclan. Clans are like tribes. As they are fighting, along comes a housecat named Rusty. I love the action of the book as I read with curiosity to know which clan would win. The book is exciting and you won’t be able to put it down. I highly recommend this book!

Goldie Jumps In!

My mother told me that Goldie is a poodle so she likes geese. I learned she was right.

‘’Let’s go!’’ my mom said. We were going to the duck pond in Demarest. I got all ready. My grandma came to visit so she was coming with us too.

After I hopped in the car, we took off!As we rode, I tried to hold on to Goldie but the ride was too wobbly. Once we got there, I jumped out and ran to the other side of the stream.

“Wait for us!” my mom said running after me with Goldie and my grandma. Once they caught up, we went to my favorite spot. I love to sit by the pond and enjoy nature this way. As we watched the water flow, we saw a lot of geese floating by the water near by. Goldie saw it too.

“Oh oh!” I said with a worried look on my face. “It's fine!” my mom assured me looking perfectly fine. Then at that moment, I was so shocked. Goldie jumped in! “Is she okay?” I wondered. “Goldie, go on…you can swim!” I shouted with my mouth wide open. Goldie seemed to be enjoying her swim. All the geese did not seem to mind being with Goldie. I laughed seeing them all in the water together. After a bit, we decided to go home early because Goldie came out of the water and was dripping wet. I felt my cheeks turn red as we went home but Goldie looked very happy to me! At least she had a good time with her swim!

Snowy days STUDENT versus

Snow days are the best! I love them because on snowy days you have a lot o thin s to do! I can have so much un too!

One reason I love snowy days is you can play more outside and enjoy the resh air. You can’t do this with hot weather. I it is too sunny, it can et hot and this makes you not want to do much outside because it’s too hot. You also need more water than in cold weather because it is so hot. It is so un to play in the snow. I can build snowmen or make snow an els. I love to have a snowball fi ht with my sister. Another reason I like snowy days more is that In snowy weather you can have more time to be with your amily. You can be inside to ether with your amily or outside doin un thin s with them. You only have time to look at the pretty snowy weather only a ew months in a year. I love to watch the snow all with my amily. Also, some people say i you watch the first snow allin , your wish will come true.

My last reason I love snowy days is that there is the happy holiday Christmas to celebrate. I love this holiday. I it snows, I can be inside and enjoy lots o un movies and have warm hot cocoa while I am cuddled on the couch. I can look out the window at my backyard that is filled with snow.

As you can see, snowy days are happy days or me. I would take them over any other type o weather. Do you a ree?

TEACHER DEBATE

sunny days

Have you ever elt the deli ht ul sunshine on your ace? I bet it made you eel so happy and warm! The bri ht li ht can turn any day into a reat day. In my opinion, sunny days are the best days!

One reason I love sunny days is that I can be outside enjoyin our world. I am able to take a walk without raindrops allin on my head or snow reezin my nose. I love to take my do or a walk when it is sunny. Also, sittin outside in my yard on sunny days, I can enjoy listenin to the birds chirpin .

Another reason why I love sunny days is because the sun helps thin s row. The sun makes ood or us and beauty to enjoy. Plants need sunli ht. Without the sun, we would not have pretty flowers. The world would look dull. In addition to that, the ve etables we love to eat resh, would not row as bi or delicious. It would be a colorless, borin world.

Finally, the sun makes me happy. It ener izes me! With the bri ht warm li ht shinin on me, I am ecstatic. I want to do thin s, o places and have un. Rainy or snowy days make me want to stay in my house and do nothin . That is so humdrum.

I am sure you will a ree with me that sunny days allow you time to enjoy the world, observe beauty and eel joy! Take advanta e o sunny days–live a happy li e!

Best Wishes

One of my favorite books is Best Wishes by Sarah Miynowski. I think this book is a really good book. It is about a girl who loses her best friend Harper and feels jealous of her friend’s new best friend. She finds the magic blue bracelet and accidentally wishes she had a lot of friends and the bracelet gets stuck on her.So the next day she has plenty of friends. At the end she realizes that the people who want to be her friend don’t really wanty to be her friend. She just wants a true friend who likes her for her personality. I like this book because there are mysteries to solve, funny twists and a lesson that everyone should know. I would rate this book five stars out of five. DEBATE: Winter

I believe that Winter is better for numerous reasons. One reason is that during the winter, ticks, mosquitoes and other annoying bugs either leave or die. This means that we don’t have to worry about bug repellent. Also, who doesn’t like a good snow day? Have you ever had a snow day during the summer? Has it ever snowed during the summer, or any other season for the matter? NO!!! The answer to all those questions is NO!!! We have never ever, ever, ever EVER had snow during the summer! Also, we have Christmas, Hanukkah and many more fun holidays! This never happens during the summer. Yes, it’s cold but that just gives you reason to curl up next to the fire on a cold day. And please don’t tell me you don’t like snowball fights and sledding! We can also build igloos and snowmen. That’s impossible to do if you’re in the summer. Think about it. How can you build if your artwork and building keep melting? YOU CAN’T!!! That is why winter is much better than summer…

GO WINTER!!!!

To: All the people who love winter.

vs. Summer

I think summer is better than winter. One reason I believe this is because of summer vacation. A break is a perfect way to start a summer after a long year of hard work in school. In winter, you only have a week of break. In summer, you get more than two months off. Another reason is the pool. In winter, the pool is closed. In summer, the pool is open at all times. How fun is it to hang out with your friends at the pool and cool off in the water? Also in summer the weather is the warmest. You can go on a hike, go in the pool, get some ice cream. It also is fun to eat outside with your family in the summer with yummy barbecue foods. In winter the weather is too cold to do anything outside. Just to build a snowman, you freeze! In summer the flowers grow, the sun shines and the animals come out. That’s why summer is better than winter. GO SUMMER!!!

Life of (Crazy) Dogs

She ran, the forest leaves crunching and twigs breaking as she sped through the forest. She ran, her paws barely hitting the ground. She glanced behind her. It was on her tail! She kept running. Was this her life? Always running, without rest, day and night?

No!Thatwon’tbemylife!I’mdonerunningand hidingtosurvive!Neveragain!IwillfighttolivethelifeI deserve.

She turned, skidding and digging her claws into the ground to stop. She waited, fur bristled for the monster to arrive.

It did, in all of its glowing eyes and metal skinned glory. It growled, black smoke fanning out behind it. Its big black rubber paws destroyed the bushes and everything else in its path. She stared at it in determination. Her paw slashed out and clawed at the beasts legs.

Suddenly, the beast let out a long wine. She stared at it in disbelief. The beast was collapsing! It’s legs were getting thinner and sinking into the ground. It let out a small grumble and snorted for the last time.

Believe

Then, its eyes dulled and the beast stopped moving. She looked at it and the truth sunk in. Her eyes brightened and she leapt with joy. She had done it! She had defeated the beast! She climbed onto a rock shaped like a cliff and yowled. She yowled at the moon and the stars.

“We’re free!” she cried, “We’re free from the beast!” And, having spread the message, she leapt off the rock and into the night.

“Sometimes the end is just a new beginning.”

My father used to tell me, "If you can growl it, you must be able to howl it!" I know he is right, I have always believed him, but now, in this dark time, with the big sticks that hurt and the air that is hard to breathe, and the water that makes you sick, and the food that makes you die, do I still?

We used to howl, all of us as one, never alone. We used to howl every night, leaping upon rocks in joy. But now, nothing's the same. We have no howls, not even on the circle moon. We cower in fear when we used to roam the forest. We stick to ourselves, when we used to share everything with each other. Now, nothing is the same. Now, will the past pack, the pack I know and love, come back?

Will we ever know?

I raise my head warily, ears twitching as someone approaches. We used to sing in welcome. Now, we barely look up. A messenger is there, standing, in the middle of our Home. Is it still Home? Home WAS here. But now, now where is Home? The messenger scouts the others, looking for someone.

I step forward, "Yes?"

"I have a message from my leader," he says, his ears flat in fear.

"I see," I answer, my head and tail held high. I am one of the only ones who still do this sign of pride.

"The message I was sent here to give is; We must band together, to unite. The beast was defeated. Do you remember who defeated it?"

"Yes," I nodded, "I do."

It was defeated by an outcast. An outcast made by being both our species, combined.

"How does that relate? The beast was defeated over 2,000 years ago!" I growl, my lips starting to turn upwards.

The rest of the pack raises their lips too.

The messenger shivers his legs crouching, ready to spring away at the first sign of danger. "Yes but we need help. YOU need help!" He must have realized this was the wrong thing to say because his eyes widen and he gulps.

"That is ENOUGH!!! How DARE you think you have the right to barge in here and say to unite because WE NEED HELP!!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!"

I snarl, baring my teeth. Me and the others start to close in on him.

"Wait!" cries a small voice. The voice of the runt.

The weak little thing stops us right there and then, running in front of the messenger. This messanger did nothing wrong! He is only doing what he was told! Be mad at his leader! Not at him! And anyways he has a point. We DO need help. Look at us! “This is not how we want to represent ourselves! Is it? As cowards?" he asks, his eyes glinting in determination. I pause, thinking. Then, I smooth out my fur and lower my lips, "Very well, run along now and tell your leader we will meet at dawn. Thank you and goodbye," I finally say as I watch him run off into the night. I feel a new feeling. Something greater than determination to survive. I feel something good. Something giving me the determination to LIVE not just survive. Hope. I feel hope. And looking around, I see the others do too. The elders smile, the babies play, the adults grin. And looking down at the little runt, I realize he has the most hope of us all. He raised his head and a single howl swept up into the night sky, up, up, up to the twinkling stars above. I join, howling my hearts content. Pouring in all my misery and shame and anger of this new life into my howl. One by one, the others join us. We hop onto rocks

in joy. Together, we howled all our feelings into that howl.

Our voices united as one. And I must say, even though we were hungry and tired, and even a little bit scared, that howl was the best one I have ever heard.

The End

Never Give Up!!!

Once in Montreal, Canada, there was a girl named Stacy. She loved sports, and she especially loved basketball. She always practiced with her dad. One day, when she was practicing for her “ONE DAY” special basketball game, her big brother came along and said, ‘“You can never do good in a real game.” She felt so sad. Then she started to believe him because from that day on, she couldn't score at all! ”Do not listen to him,” her dad told her. She wanted to believe her dad but was not so sure. So she kept on practicing with her dad.

Then one day it happened. She had a real game! She felt so nervous. Would her brother be right? Would her dad be right? She played her very best. The final bell rang and her team won! Her one teammate shouted, ”You are the best basketball player that I ever met.” Another teammate said, ”We won because of YOU!” Stacy replied, “I couldn’t do it without all you guys!” Stacy felt good. She felt very good! From that day on, she was a star! She was confident.

A few days later, her big brother said, “Um…I …I am sorry. I did not know that I hurt your feelings.” ”It’s okay,'' Stacy replied. From that day on, her big brother and Stacy practiced for her all her basketball game together.

Dinosaurs

This is a dinosaur. They lived 65,000,000 years ago. They were wonderful creatures and they now still remain birds, some reptiles, and an amount of fish. The picture you see here is a Deinonychus (Dy-un-nyc-kis). Deinonychus were small and nimble creatures. They remain as emus.

Some people think they’re kind of creepy, but they’re actually pretty cool! :) My favorite is the one in the picture! There are people who study dinosaurs like these ones I’m going to list, scientists, and also paleontologists (pay-leun-tollo-jists).

Paleontologists dig up bones from the dirt. Scientists are the ones who examine and put the bones in the museum.

They weren’t just studying the animals, but they were also studying the vegetation and plants! There were many carnivorous plants in that time. The only one that remains is the venus fly-trap. But most of the time, you saw regular old plants that didn’t have an appetite for flesh. There were three periods of time that the dinosaurs lived. The Triassic period, the Jurassic period, and the Cretaceous period. The dinosaur you’ll see most often is the T.rex (Tee-recks). If you’ve seen the movie Jurassic Park, you’ve probably seen a T.rex.

That’s all! If you want to read more awesome nonfictions, just wait until the next publication!

WOULD YOU

Go back in time OR

I would rather go back in time. One reason is if I made a mistake, I could go back in time and fix it. Another example would be you can see a person that might have passed away. My last reason is if you moved away you can go back in time and see the person you miss. This is why I think going to the future is better.

Here are some reasons why I think going to the future is not that great. One reason is you won’t be able to fix a mistake you made. Another reason is you won’t be able to see your loved ones again. My last reason is you won’t be able to see the people you miss. This is why I think going to the future is not the best.

Please pick past!

Go to the future?

I would rather go to the future because imagine seeing the whole world in 20 years? it would be awesome, right? One reason I like the future is because you can see how everything changed. For example, imagine seeing a flying car. The second reason is because it would be so cool seeing yourself in the future. Maybe you will be a famous singer or a movie star. My third reason is if you get in really big trouble, you can solve it for your future self. My fourth reason is maybe you wish to teleport. What if you went in a portal and now you are somewhere else? What if you were in the New York streets today and you step in a portal and then you are on the beach in 2050? Those are 4 reasons why the future is the BEST!!!!!!!

Flying car! PLEASE PICK FUTURE RATHER…

BLOOM POLL: Favorite Specials

Hello everyone! This is a poll that we did with Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade! We decided to see which specials class is the favorite with all the younger kids! We polled 271 students! Based off of our data, we are proud to announce that Gym has won with 37% of students choosing exercise. Running closely behind, we have a school of artists with 34% choosing to draw (one of my favorites too). But don’t worry STEM fans! You guys are in third with 14% choosing smarts as your favorites. Next up, we have music with Mr. Mello as 7% of our school prepares to sing! Spanish comes next with exactly 4% of the kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders eager to learn more than just English. But don’t worry Mrs. Luberger! The only reason you have 2% is because Kindergarten, the biggest of 3, does not have Music Extensions. This gives you a big disadvantage. Don’t feel bad. We LOVE Music Extensions! Well, let’s stop this from being a page long essay and show you guys the stats instead!

Polar Bear on Ice

One day a polar bear went swimming in the cold ocean in the North Pole. He saw a piece of ice and jumped on it. But then the ice broke into a small piece and floated away on the water. Oh no! The polar bear was stuck on the ice. The ice floated further away from the land until the land was far away. The polar bear was too scared to swim back to the land. He felt nervous. As he was standing on the piece of ice, it started to break some more. The polar bear was slipping and falling off. He tried to get back up but it was too slippery and he kept falling. The polar bear felt even more scared. He needed to find a way to go back to land to meet his family again but how? The polar bear thought and thought. He decided to be brave and jump in. “I can do this,” he thought. “I am a polar bear, and I can swim even if it is a lot to swim.” So he took a breath and jumped in. He looked toward his home and started to swim and swim. When he got tired, he stopped and floated. Then he finally made it to land. He got home and saw his family again. He knew never to jump on ice again.

The Snowman Family

My little brother and I woke up late. I looked out the window and saw SNOW! I was so excited. I jumped out of bed and got dressed quickly. Next, I ran to eat breakfast as my little brother begged my mom to go outside. Mom said, “First you need to eat your breakfast. And you can go out only if you wear your coat, hats and gloves.” My little brother and I finished our breakfast, put on our coats and went outside. It was cold but we were too excited to go back inside. We decided to build a snowman each. I rolled the snow to make a ball and then put another and then another on top to make my snowman. My brother did his too. Then we looked around for sticks and put them on our snowmen to make arms. We also put rocks for buttons. Then we took off our scarves and put them on our snowmen. We asked our mom for carrots to make a mouth and nose. We thought one was the dad snowman and the other the mom. So we decided to make a baby snowman too. It was so much fun playing in the snow and making our snowmen. Then we went inside to have hot chocolate as we looked out the window to see our snowman family.

Doggy Accidents

It all started yesterday, when I tore up some toilet paper, ripped the paper towels and spilled the garbage. Let me tell you about it …

I was minding my own business when my mom said, “I’m going to the supermarket, so please be good!”

“Woof! Woof!” I barked. She patted me and went out the door. The door closed with a loud “Click!”

I thought to myself, “MaybeIcantearsometoiletpaper. No…I’llgetintroublelikelasttime.”Playing with toilet paper was one of my favorite things to do but it always made my mom so angry. I don’t know why! I turned and walked toward my bed to take a nap. But a few minutes later, I thought, “Ican’tresist!Ijusthaveto!Don’tworry…Iwon’t takethatmuch!”

I creeped into the bathroom and spotted my prize. I leapt up to the toilet paper and ripped just one piece of toilet paper.

Chomp!Chomp! I chewed the toilet paper for bit until it was just mush. Then I thought, “I’lljusttakeonemorepieceof

toiletpaper…justonemore.”But after that one, I took another 15 pieces of toilet paper. Soon, I was tired of just toilet paper. Suddenly, I had an idea! “Iknow!I’llripsomepaper towels!ButI’llonlytakealittle!” I thought. I ran into the kitchen and jumped onto the counter and took some paper towels. When I was done, I heard footsteps. They were getting closer! I thought, “Maybeit’smy mom!YAY!”I ran towards the door with joy but when I was running, I knocked over the garbage can. When my mom came in, she shouted , “What did you do?!” “Uh-Oh!” I thought. “No treats for you!”

Now, I told you what happened yesterday. Well, I still can’t eat my treats. No more paper for me!

Birthday Bad Luck

One time, there was a girl named Sarah. She had her birthday party in her house. Her mom bought her many balloons. There were red ones because this was her favorite color. After her party, she wanted to go to the beach to see the sunset. She asked her mom if she could bring her balloons with her. Her mom first said no but then said ok. They left with a car full of her red balloons.

When they arrived, Sara was so excited. Sara ran on the beach pulling the balloons behind her. It was a windy day and a little hard to keep the balloons from getting tangled. All of sudden, guess what? Sarah was floating in the air!! She screamed and cried. She felt so worried. “Mom, I think I will go to the sky.” But suddenly, she felt little arms on her leg. Guess who it was? MOM! Sara hugged her mom and said, ”Thank you!”

Now after all of that happened, they went back to the car and they went home safely. Sarah fell sleepy right away when she arrived back home. Her mom sent her to her bed. She saw Sarah sleeping and thought how proud to have a perfect daughter. And Sarah was dreaming of her balloons in the sky and she felt scared until in her dream the balloons popped and

Real or Not a Magic School??!!

Cuphead vs Mugman

I think Cuphead is better than Mugman. The reason Cuphead is better is that Cuphead can be funnier at specific times, and Mugman can be a bit boring sometimes. Cuphead is also the leader of the two most of the time. Also, Cuphead can pull off some crazy things, some of which can’t be pulled off in real life. In addition, the reason some of the episodes are really funny is because of Cuphead doing these crazy things.

I think that Mugman is better than Cuphead because Mugman is serious. Also, I think that it is better to be serious. Why is that? Because what if something happened if I were fooling around? They would think I wouldn’t care. Also, most of the time Mug- man is always the one who leads Cuphead to make sure he won’t do dangerous stuff. He also makes sure everything is normal. But on the other hand, Cuphead is always crazy and getting into crazy stuff. So that is why I think Mughead is better then Cuphead.

The Bored Panda

One day, Sugar the panda was bored. “Sigh!” said Sugar. “There is nothing to do, nothing to play.” She wanted something to do and wanted to play. Then, “Gasp!” She looked out the window. SNOW!

“I want to go out to play!” said Sugar. So Sugar went out in the snow. Wow! It was a lot of snow! Sugar had fun walking and running in the snow. After about one hour, Sugar thought she was done. “Mmmmm….not quite!” she thought.

She had an idea. She decided to make a snowman. She made a big one. She had carrots for her snack so she put some on her snowman. Then it was time for dinner! Sugar went inside to eat. But what she did not know was that her snowmen became alive and walked away. The next day, Sugar’s snowman was gone. Sugar was confused but happy to play again in the snow.

Favorite Dinner?

We were wondering what Bryan School students love to eat for dinner. What is their favorite food? So we asked students in Grades 1-3 and did a poll. Their choices were pizza, pasta, sushi, burger with fries, or chicken nuggets.

After getting back 203 responses, guess which won? Sushi! Yes, sushi was the favorite dinner for 65 students or 32% of students in Gr. 1-3. Pizza was next with 22% and burger with fries with almost 20%. Pasta and chicken nuggets came in last with about 13% each.

What is interesting is that if we look at each grade, the results are different. For example, students in Gr. 1 prefer pizza for dinner with 35% of all the choices, followed by sushi with 27%. Only 7% chose pasta as their favorite dinner. In Gr. 2, almost 45% of students chose sushi with pasta being next with 22%. Less than 10% liked chicken nuggets for dinner. In Gr. 3, 34% of students liked burger and fries for dinner with pasta being their least favorite with 9%.

How about you? What is your favorite dinner?

The Nickelodeon Amusement Park!

Stomp stomp, we ran down the escalator. I looked at Libby and Manuela, and we saw the big orange and green Nickelodeon sign,’We’re here,’’ I shouted as we sprinted to the big purple ride that had a big purple sign. Whoosh! We heard the roller coaster go down the tracks.’’ I’m so excited,’’ I said ‘’Me too,’’ Libby said as we ran to get in line for the Shredder ride . I looked up at the ride’’It's so big!’’ I said to Manuela. ’’It is.’’ Manuela said, looking back at me. When it was our turn, we all looked at each other sitting down on the ride.’’ I’m scared,’’ I said nervously as we were going up the ride slowly. ’’Me too,’’ Libby said, looking worried. Just then we went shooting down the ride, all of us were screaming. It was soooo fast, we all felt dizzy .’’This is sooo cool and fast,’’ all of us shouted while we went up and down the ride. Screech! The cart stopped. I looked over at Manuela and Libby. Soon we were all laughing and giggling as we hopped out of the cart. ‘’That was the best ride ever,’’Libby

and I shouted as the 3 of us ran to the exit.

Then we saw a big pink jellyfish swing ride. “Let’s go on that ride,” Libby said. “Ok,”both of us answered running towards it.’’Good thing there isn't any line,’’ I said. So we ran to the entrance to get on the jellyfish ride.’’This is going to be very fun,” Libby said sitting in the swing next to Manuela and I. As we started to rise in the air, I could see the whole park from up there. Seconds later, we started to spin around in circles, all of us screaming wildly! After we did 50 circles, we started to come down. We looked at each other and got off the swing. We smiled and laughed as we walked out the exit on the other side holding hands. “That was awesome” we all said. “I’m so thirsty,” Libby and Manuela said. “Me too.” I agreed while I was looking at all the other rides. We ran to the snack stand and got three bottles of water. “Hey!” Manuela said, “Let's go on the Shredder ride again.” We both agreed so we ran to the Shredder ride to ride it again. After waiting 10 minutes in line….it was finally our turn. We hopped into the seats and buckled ourselves up, “I’m excited to go on this ride again,” Libby and I said as we slowly climbed up to the top of the ride. Five seconds later…..WHOOSH! We went shooting down the roller coaster. “This is the best!” all of us shouted.

The Cruise

I was packing my stuff, ready to go to the bahamas! Then my mom shouted, “Time to go!” I ran to the living room in a hurry. Everyone was waiting for me. We got in the cab and went. I knew I was gonna have a great time! It took 45 minutes to get there and I thought I might throw up! But then, we arrived. I got out of the car and got my suitcase. We went inside. The line wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. In 15 minutes, we were on the cruise. My smile grew large, and I jumped up and down. I could not believe I was on a cruise. We walked in amazement to our room. My sister and I got our own private room.

I set up my things and went exploring with Agam, my sister. We saw the buffet, the bumper cars and the pools. It was so amazing. Just as we started, the day ended,

the sky grew darker, and the cruise bumped along the waves sailing to our first island. I couldn’t wait until the next day.

Two days later, we arrived at our first destination, Florida! We went snorkeling, and we saw dolphins. We got back on the cruise after a while. We went to see a Broadway play, We Will Rock You. It was great. The next day, we arrived at Blue Lagoon. It wasn't as fun though. To get in the water we needed a lifesaver jacket. But at least we got to touch a dolphin!!!

The next day we arrived at Cococay. It was a private island. Only the people on the cruise were allowed to go there. We saw wild turkey. There was an ice cream machine so we got to eat the ice cream for free! It was amazing. Three days later, it was all over. We got in a cab and drove back home. I knew it was going to be fun, but now I know it will be a trip I am going to remember forever.

Snow Day

In the small town of Cresskill, five friends were having a meeting that would change the world! The meeting was about how they could buy a snack! They decided to play a dangerous game. The card game!!!! The players were……. Davie and Jax, two 11 year old boys and Evese and Horiy, two girls. Evese was 11 years old too and was the team’s second boss. Horiy was the only one who was 10 years old. The last one on the team was the boss of this team, Kahoru. She was so happy and bright everyday. So that is why the team name was THE HAPPY TEAM! This story is about Kahoru’s pet who gets lost and another team meets to help her. Now let’s go inside the story and find out what is going to happen.

One day there was a happy party going on for the team. The party was inside the Kahoru’s house. They talked and talked and played games! While the team was having a lot of fun, the phone rang. It was to say a snowstorm was coming towards Cresskill! They didn’t worry because the party was inside the house.

After a little bit, the snowstorm started. The snow was falling like rain as the team was having fun. But all of a sudden, someone screamed very loudly inside the kitchen. It was a Kahoru’s mom who was making snacks for them. “What is so wrong, Mom?” asked Kahoru. “I forgot something very important!” She started to cry!

“No, Mom, we didn't forget anything. We had our snacks and our friends, even the party was not outside. Coca, come here.” called Kahoru. Coca is Kahoru’s pet dog. “But Coca is gone!” she screamed. Kahoru fell down. She started to cry. The team saw their boss crying. They said they would help!

The snow was everywhere. They looked inside the snow, behind a tree, even the place that Coca loved to go. But there was no Coca. The storm was getting stronger and everyone was so cold. Kahoru worried about the team. She told the team that it was okay to go in and that they could look for Coca tomorrow when the storm ends.

When they got to the street, the team heard the laughing sound coming from a distance. It was Kahoru house!

When Kahoru got into the house she screamed at her mom. “Why are you so happy? We didn’t find him!?!?“ she cried. “I know. I know.” She said this like she knew it! Then something jumped onto Kahoru. A little ball of love. Coca! After that, The Happy Team had a lot of fun together! Everyone was so happy that Coca was found!

BLOOM POLL

Kindergartener’s Favorite Holiday

All kids love holidays. But we were wondering which holiday was the favorite of kindergarten students. So we decided to do a poll to find out. We asked over 100 students in six kindergarten classes. The choices were Christmas/Hanukkah, Thanksgiving, Halloween, New Year’s or July 4th. The winner was Christmas/Hanukkah with 40%! That is not too hard to believe because those are such fun holidays! In second place was Halloween with just about 34% of all votes. This is a fun holiday because wearing costumes and getting candy and chocolate are the best. Thanksgiving was next with 16% of votes followed by July 4th with 7%. Students liked New Years the least with only 3% of votes. This is also easy to understand because it is hard to stay up until midnight when you are only five years old. Which is your favorite holiday?
