IN NOVEMBER THE NEW EDITION OF ARTISSIMA IN TURIN WILL PRESENT 200 GALLERIES FROM AROUND THE WORLD In 1990 the Emilian writer Pier Vittorio Tondelli published a collection of writings with the title Un weekend postmoderno. Cronache dagli anni Ottanta, (A post-modern weekend. Chronicles from the Eighties) considered a cult work by the generation of that decade. The book offers a ourney through fragments, reports, interior illuminations, reflections, participated descriptions� throughout the Italian peninsula. From this work the Quadriennale borrows the expression Altri tempi, altri miti (Other times, other myths), chosen as the title of this Roman exhibition to condense the content and structural premises. Under the stage lights of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni there are new times, that is to say the 21st century, and the Italian icons and new myths that compose the changing map of contemporary artistic production. From Italy to the rest of the world is one small step:
giving space to the younger talents of today, imagining the e periments of the near future at a global level, is also the aim of the 201 edition of Artissima, one of the most well-known art fairs at an international level. rom riday ovember to Sunday ovember , almost 200 galleries from 5 countries have their appointment at the val ingotto in urin. ver 2,000 works of art will be on display in the 20,000 m2 of exhibition space and for the fifth year in a row Sarah Cosulich Canarutto will be the artistic director with the aim of continuing the development of experimental research. Sections dedicated to emerging artists and to performances will be added to the main section. Special attention will be reserved to new entries, that is to say galleries that have been active for less than five years, that will show the most courageous research projects in contemporary art. In the area entitled Dialogue, projects will be presented in which the works of one or more maestros are put in relation to one another.
