La vuelta de la Copa del Rey MAPFRE a las aguas de la bahía constituye una excelente noticia para la ciudad. Por eso, quiero dar mi más cordial bienvenida a esta 39ª edición tan especial.
The return of the Copa del Rey MAPFRE to the bay is excellent news for the city. Therefore, I want to warmly welcome this such special 39th edition.
Para Palma, es mucho más que una regata, un acontecimiento deportivo único de proyección mundial. No es únicamente una competición donde se dan cita más de un centenar de equipos y embarcaciones de primer nivel, sino también una inyección de promoción de Palma ligada a la calidad, el prestigio y la excelencia como destino. La Copa del Rey MAPFRE se consolida como un motor de desarrollo del sector náutico y servicios complementarios, y genera valor añadido, actividad económica, y puestos de trabajo. En conjunto, una repercusión muy positiva para Palma, ahora que es más necesaria que nunca. Nos llena de alegría que el Club Náutico de Palma sea, una vez más, punto neurálgico de la vela en el Mediterráneo. Enhorabuena al Club Náutico de Palma, a la Federación de Vela, al Comité Organizador de Regatas y a todos los patrocinadores, armadores, patrones y regatistas por hacerlo nuevamente posible, con todas las medidas de seguridad, en este año tan especial. For Palma, it is much more than a regatta, a unique sporting event with global projection. It is not only a competition where more than a hundred top-level teams and boats meet, but also an injection of promotion of Palma linked to quality, prestige and excellence as a destination. The Copa del Rey MAPFRE is consolidated as a development engine for the nautical sector and complementary services, and generates added value, economic activity, as wells as employment. Altogether mean a very positive repercussion for Palma, that it is now more necessary than ever. We are delighted that the Club Náutico de Palma is, once again, the hub of sailing in the Mediterranean Sea. Congratulations to the Club Náutico de Palma, the Sailing Federation, the Regatta Organizing Committee and all the sponsors, owners, skippers and sailors for making it possible again, with all the safety measures, in this very special year. We are really looking forward to enjoy again great competitions like our Copa del Rey MAPFRE, let it be a success!
