The Eden and East Eden volunteer fire departments are celebrating 100 years of service to our Town. Part of their celebration includes a Community Day this weekend. These volunteers already give to this community 365 days a year in all kinds of weather and circumstances and at personal risk. Their inclusion of a “community” day into their anniversary celebration speaks volumes about their priorities.
Next time you hear the fire siren go off in the middle of the night, remember that the individuals heading out to answer that call are not paid. They are volunteers and their service to the Town of Eden and all of us is priceless. Be thankful that we have such people in our lives.
