EDIFICIO ALHAMBRA Avenida Central, calle 2, boulevard de Correos, San José En un barco del viejo continente viajó el metal que se utilizó para crear este inmueble de tres pisos a finales del siglo XIX. En sus tiempos dorados fue un almacén de primer orden que vendía productos importados, hoy está sumergido en medio del eclecticismo arquitectónico de la capital, pero sigue siendo una obra maestra. Eso sí, si no levantas la mirada, puede que lo pierdas por completo. The metal that was used to create this three-story building made its way here by boat from the old continent in the late nineteenth century. During its golden years, the building was a warehouse of first order that sold imported products. Today the building is submerged in the middle of the capital’s architectural eclecticism, yet it remains a masterpiece indeed – however if you do not raise your eyes, you might miss it altogether.

MUSEO DE JADE ¿Oro? ¿Para qué? Decían las culturas precolombinas que valoraban aún más el jade como la piedra de la creación, la vida y la fertilidad. En el museo este culto vuelve a la vida, la muestra posee casi 7.000 piezas, dentro de ellas objetos labrados en oro, hueso y madera. Es considerado el único especio cultural en el mundo dedicado al arte precolombino.

In the museum this adoration comes to life.The exhibit has almost 7,000 pieces and also includes objects carved of gold, bone and wood. It is considered to be the only cultural display in the world devoted to pre-Columbian art. 75
