Dublin City Council Cultural Strategy 2016-2021 underlines the values, ideas and actions of the 2020 proposal, the ‘Bid Book’, the theme of which was the diversity and the divisions that define Dublin today, as a city with a rich cultural heritage in a period of great change. Technological advances, demographic shifts, new forms of social participation and cultural expression perhaps underline the historical divisions of the city, and create new ones.
Dublin City Council Culture Company (formerly Culture Connects) runs cultural initiatives and buildings across the city on behalf of Dublin City Council and the people of Dublin. Their mission is connecting people through culture and conversation, to generate experiences, to ignite imaginations and to inspire action.
