Around the Table is a project that explores the central place of food in our lives. Connecting it to memory, culture and place by mapping the journey of food in the City from the Docks to the markets, and from the streets to the table.
The project ran in East Wall, the Docklands, Smithfield and Stoneybatter in 2016/2017 as part of The National Neighbourhood and was a partnership between Dublin City Council Culture Company (formerly Dublin’s Culture Connects), The National Library of Ireland, Dublin City Arts Office and Dublin Central Local Area Office – and was led by Artist Jennie Moran, documenter and photographer Jeanette Lowe and social historian Donal Fallon.
Dublin City Council Culture Company runs cultural initiatives and buildings across the city on behalf of Dublin City Council and the people of Dublin. Its mission is connecting people through culture and conversation, to generate experiences, to ignite imaginations and to inspire action. www.dublincitycouncilculturecompany.ie
