The festival included a free Farmers Market in which we were able to send 250 family’s home with produce bags filled with fresh fruits and veggies. A fun filled day that consisted of a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a fresh food cooking demo, animal education and free zoo tickets provided by the Dallas Zoo. Also, free museum memberships offered by Perot Museum, Black Voters Matter with on-site registration drives, and Dallas ISD registered students for Pre-K.

CELEBRATING THE DADS OF DTLR IN DALLAS

DAY
FATHER’S
PRESS

We are committed to putting resources back into your neighborhood and with your purchase of this DTLR Exclusive, proceeds will go towards a local non-profit, B360 . Thank you for helping us do small things with great love!

For the latest entry in our long-standing partnership with New Balance, we’ve teamed up on a fresh new colorway of the brand’s 9060 silhouette. Dubbed the “Glow” 9060, this take screams long summer nights with vibrant colors, glow-inthe-dark hits, and breathable materials.

As the name implies, this release is littered with glow-in-the-dark details. The rubber outsoles, side-panel “N” logo overlays, and 9060 tongue emblems all shine when the lights go down. Dual-density midsole units boast ABZORB and SBS foam cushioning, completing the design.

“Not all of us can do great things but we can do small things with great love.”

BRO Day is a worldwide celebration that encourages the Black community to run. This annual event brings together running clubs from the DMV area for a morning of exercise, empowerment, and fun for all ages.

The Black Running Organization (BRO) serves to organize, educate, and condition the Black community based on running as a practical demonstration of unity. BRO holds weekly community runs, youth empowerment programs, and community service projects throughout the Greater Baltimore area. BRO’s slogan is “LETSGROW,” which simply means collective development.

Unfortunately, not every community has access to outdoor tracks or exercise equipment, which makes local groups key to showing people how to utilize the space where they live. This partnership has aligned perfectly with the Dare To Live Right health initiative. We will continue to support this movement, and others alike in all the DTLR regions.

The city of Baltimore made a statement this year as they marked June 17th officially as Baltimore Club Music Day! or the inaugural year, the city of Baltimore honored BCMD at this year’s AFRAM Festival where they kicked off the showcase with several DJ sets, artist performances, dances, award ceremonies and much more.

DTLR was in the building as we supported the entire BCMD showcase, set up a giveaway table alongside Unruly Records and took over the stage screens alongside our friends at McDonald’s. Druid Hill Park, the venue for this monumental event, was packed as soon as gates opened at 12pm and stayed filled until the end of our showcase leading into the rest of AFRAM. It was truly an amazing day of celebrations!

CAMPBELL PAULA

A friend of the family and Baltimore’s own Paula Campbell stopped past the DTLR Radio Studios this month to link up with The Pretty Girl Tiara LaNiece for a brand-new interview. As always when these two Baltimorean queens link up, they had quite a time together. Reminiscing on Paula’s fruitful career, telling multiple stories, keeping the good energy and laughter flowing, this conversation was soothing from start to finish.

HOOPS FOR HOPE

BASKETBALL COURT REVEAL

The Hoops for Hope Project was organized by The Chase Your Dreams Initiative, a 501c3 nonprofit that aims to use sports to address community needs, in partnership with Anne Arundel County Recreation & Parks and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman. The Hoops for Hope Project will feature park upgrades in Meade Village with the addition of two brand new full basketball courts, a new parking lot, and a brand-new court mural design that was installed and led by renowned muralist Comacell Brown. With the help and participation of Meade Village residents and DTLR volunteers we created an engaging art project to unite residents in a public space.

Respective businesses and organizations in the Anne Arundel County community have come together to play big roles in making this project come to fruition, such as Tunnel Vision, DTLR, ACDS, Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County, United Way, Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, NBA Guard Trevelin Queen and his Queen’s Family Foundation.

This project created new safe playing spaces for the youth and adults in Meade Village to pursue their athletic and artistic dreams. The Tunnel Vision men’s and high school basketball league kicked off as the inaugural event on the newly constructed landmark.

The League has become a pillar in the Meade Village community which is now entering into its 4th season. As headline sponsor, DTLR Sports and Community, will partner with Tunnel Vison to lead the charge on using sports and community resources to tackle social and economic issues in underserved communities.

DTLR Radio partnered up with our friends at Hot 107.9 in ATL once again for their annual Birthday Bash event. This year’s lineup and special guests was a star-studded affair including 21 Savage, J. Cole, Cardi B, DaBaby, Latto, Kali, Lola Brooke, Finesse2Tymes, Glorilla, Sexyy Red and so many others. Fadam Got Da Juice and DTLR Radio set up shop in the backstage VIP area where we broadcast live, interviewed the artists who rolled through and enjoyed another successful show.

HYDE PARK SUMMERFEST

Chicago’s Hyde Park Summer Fest is an annual event sponsored by The Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce and for this year, DTLR was a part of the festivities. The HP Summer Fest mixes great music, good food with the great people of one of Chicago’s Iconic neighborhoods on the cities south side. The second annual 2-day event was held June 17th and 18th at the University of Chicago Midway Plaisance with performances by hip hop artist 2 Chainz, Clipse, Tobe Nwigwe, Twista, Vic Mensa, Crucial Conflict, Lil Kim & more.

DTLR sponsored the Power 92 live broadcast inside of Hyde Park Summer fest. The DTLR branded promotional truck was placed inside of the fest at the general admissions entrance. DTLR & Power 92 street teams distributed DTLR branded promo items, swag bags and DTLR store location flyers to the crowd throughout the duration of the event along with DTLR gift card giveaways on air during the radio live broadcast.

We came, we saw, we conquered — we eXceLed!

The long-awaited return of our much-anticipated Atlanta Fashion Show was a major success! Returning to the Georgia Freight Depot in the ATL for the first time since 2019, we made it a priority to go above and beyond for this year’s extravaganza. It’s the 40-year anniversary of DTLR, so why wouldn’t we take things to the next level?

Our incredible brand partners showed up and showed out, our beautiful models shut down the runway, our star performers gave us the hits we needed, and our amazing hosts, Yung Joc and the #PrettyGirl Tiara LaNiece kept the energy lively from start to finish. It was truly a special evening!

Atlanta based nonprofit Love Beyond Walls was first conceptualized in 2013, with a focus on amplifying awareness of the realities and needs of those experiencing lack and vulnerability.

Terence Lester, founder, felt it was crucial to give these voices a platform, and after a conversation with his family, he set out to the streets and embarked on life as a homeless person for one month in the heart of the city of Atlanta. It was that experience that was the driving force behind his foundation, Love Beyond Walls.

This year we honored Terence as a part of our A Father 1st campaign during our Atlanta Fashion Show. The goal of the A Father 1st is to Rebrand the Man of our community in every way. We must change the narrative – we want to create a new vision for the role of our fathers and lift those who work to give back every day! Fathers’ vital role makes a difference in the success or failure of our communities, and we aim to give various men a platform to be seen and heard in all our regions.

The brand partners made this event possible, and we couldn’t be more excited for how our Vendor Showcase played out. From Nike and Jordan, to New Balance, Javi, Converse, True Religion, Sprayground, Frostiez, Goorin Bros. and more. Each brand had an incredible build out and that was evident by how busy each section was. The photo moments, the red carpet, and more! There was so much to see and do.

With Nike, we created an awesome Air Max moment where attendees could walk on a mini treadmill momentarily, showing off their Air Max’s. They then received a green-screen style video right on the spot that shows the person ‘walking on clouds’ to help push the #MaxxedOut campaign. We also had incredible shoe designers customizing Air Force 1’s for attendees. That’s right… you could’ve not only witnessed some epic fashion, but you could’ve even left with a 1-of-1 item yourself!

New Balance had a full build-out with an epic grass wall illuminating the NB logo, alongside LED couches where people could hang. More importantly, they featured their upcoming DTLR Exclusive 9060 GLOW shoe that releases in all DTLR stores on June 16th. Let’s just say it was a hot topic all show long as folks flocked to check out the fresh new kicks.

Javi and Goorin Bros. were smack-dabbed in the middle of the GA Freight Depot with tremendous layouts.

Javi had a bright, lit up section showing off a ton of their shoes and product. Goorin Bros. took a unique approach to showing off their hats as they created a huge replica of their logo via crates that served as hatholders. The set up alone had people flocking over and that was before they saw the fire new caps.

KING FLEXXA, Host

Taking over the VIP section were our good friends at Frostiez, who held down the bar area with an incredible ice sculpture of their name next to the packed bar area. Hors d’oeuvres were also served to our special guest attendees. DTLR Radio was onsite with our host, King Flexxa, handling artist interviews while Converse, True Religion and our other vendor partners provided gift bags for our VIP guests.

While our models clearly were the focus of our show, we can’t forget our amazing artist performances. We went to different “Area Codes” with Kali, the hometown heroes Domani and Hunxho did their thing, and the lovely BreezyLyn, donned in Nike, reminded us who the bad ones are. DJ Suga Shae from our radio partners at Streetz 94.5 was on the 1s and 2s the entire event and certainly kept the crowd live. The celebrity guests were plenty as we had Michael Rainey Jr., Morray, OMB Peezy, Jhonni Blaze, Shamari Devoe, JMO, Steve Hedgewood, and so many more.
