ATLANTA

DTLR once again partnered with Hot 107.9 to be a part of the festival in a strong way. On the main concourse, we set up shop and interacted with all the concertgoers before they made their way to their seats. With a ton of DTLR giveaways, prizes and more, the fans had much to be excited about before the actual show.
ATL was the place to be this past Saturday (July 16) for Hot 107.9’s annual Birthday Bash festival! With a star studded lineup that included the likes of 2 Chainz, Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo, Glorilla, Jacquees, K Camp, EST Gee, Kali, Omeretta, and so many more, this year’s show was set to be one of the station’s best yet.

DTLR Community Outreach is partnering with Politicking App, a sociopolitical mobile application that can be used to learn about candidates, issue areas and amendments at every level of government. By partnering with Politicking, DTLR can further its mission to provide voter education and help empower civic participation within its Thecommunities.app, founded by two Howard University graduates and backed by DTLR, is designed to improve and increase the millennial vote by providing information about both micro and macro politics. The app includes everything from valid forms of voter identification, to displaying a politician’s stance on the economy or education, and even the ability to report voting issues – right from the palm of your hand.
“DTLR serves to empower diverse youth and communities through increasing voter awareness and registration,” said Tremayne Lipscomb, Community Outreach Director at DTLR. “We are thrilled to work with an organization that aligns with our values and provides a non-partisan platform to help educate would-be voters -especially with elections on the horizon.”
The Politicking App will be seen at the upcoming DTLR block parties in Washington, D.C. and North Carolina, the For Oak Cliff Back to School event in Dallas, along with Bowie State University and Morgan State University’s Welcome Back events. Attendees will be able to get more information on the app and its mission at the community events.

MIAMI

MIAMI Festival season took over Miami this past weekend (July 23-24) and per usual, they left their mark. You already know how Miami gets down! Taking advantage of the excitement, DTLR and our good friends at Odd Sox came through South Beach and took over our Liberty City location for a 2-day onslaught of fun deemed Odd Weekend Live! Hosted by DTLR Radio’s own Ferrari Simmons, with local Miami DJ Gee Smoove handling the 1s and 2s, we had it all. From exclusive socks customization from Odd Sox, to a slew of DTLR giveaways, to artist interviews via DTLR Radio and so much more, South Beach was clearly the place to be.

We had customers winning prizes from the claw machine and the spin wheel, meeting their favorite celebs and getting to have intimate conversations and photo moments. There was even some lucky fans who copped some slick autographs from folks like Antonio Brown. Throughout both days, we had some industry heavyweights pull up on us. We had AB, Chinese Kitty, Deion Sanders Jr., legendary producer Drumma Boy, Scorey, Bootleg Kev, Baby Tate, Brisco, V Stuck, King P, JayHitUp, and so many more.

Within our pillar of Health, we want our communities to truly THRIVE. To Thrive is to grow and develop vigorously so that one can truly prosper and flourish. Under that premise, we Dare our community to Thrive in all aspects of physical and mental health. As part of our annual partnership with local organization Nemesis Fitness, we are always proud to sponsor their local runs. These free community activities provide the opportunity for those that have never attempted a 5k a chance to interact with others and accomplish something new. On Saturday July 17th we hosted a 5k color run with the attendance of 400 runners. The run started and ended on the 500 block of Penn St, in front of the store, during operation hours. Local news stations and the mayor came out to capture and support the movement. Branded medals, t-shirts and sunglasses were distributed to all participants; DTLR staff assisted with hydration and chalk stations and the DTLR music truck led the way of the runners through the streets of Reading, PA. As everyone crossed the finishline they receive a branded medal to cement their achievements . The medal read, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.” Local small business Let’s Taco Bout It and Sugar & Sweets by Ami provided food and refreshments post run. These fun runs have a long lasting impact on families in attendance creating a bond and implementing healthy habits within the house hold. We are grateful for this relationship and look forward to continuing a partnership that will truly benefit the Central Pennsylvania community and encourage us all to be Better Together!
