Silver Linings is an unashamedly bayside beachfront home asserting its presence along the promenade of fishbowls overlooking Port Phillip Bay. An exercise in discipline and restraint, Silver Linings is a true celebration of minimalism, executed through a controlled form and restrained material palette. Washed up from the beach, Silver Linings sits as a heavy mass amongst rugged terrain of sand dunes, beach grass and aged timber planks. Coarsely textured off-form concrete frames the home, with a recessive void inviting one into a dark entry, framing the beginning of a sequence of “silver lined� spaces.
