Disappointments are not the start and end

Some people become more satisfied with their positions than their growth An English preacher, Joseph Parker, once said, “An eagle does not roost in a sparrow’s nest ” In this 21st-century generation, it is very evident that young professionals are suffering from career path crises It is interesting to observe how these young professionals cope with unexpected disappointment, significantly if the sudden change negatively affects their plans

Too many times, life becomes routine and boring This leads people to change their habits to another habit. Sometimes, we have our hearts set on the wrong things, and what we regard as misfortunes may be the means of making things possible that could otherwise not be achieved.

There are many times when the unexpected erupts, and our plans are abruptly changed With this, we all have had our share of disappointments, and we have all known what it means to have it rain on our parade. It is easier to talk about climbing than to climb

This is similar to career path progression; we always think of getting higher positions without considering our capabilities Little did we know that success in a position comes with personal development; disappointment may follow.

But, in career and life progressiondisappointments are usual. By our reaction towards it, we make them either positive or negative It is also a pacesetter and stop sign, a roadblock to be placed before your progress so that you can be physically, emotionally, and spiritually ready.

We, too, can choose how we can react to these disappointments. We can choose to sit Life is not always becoming the best.

We can choose to keep our eyes on the height like an eagle. Slowly and steadily, with determination, we can pass the sparrow’s nest Settling as second best is only a reminder to us that life is a journey and not a destination.

Tap yourself again stop cramming for the future, and appreciate the beauty of now

BEING IS DOING YOUR BEST Happily

To continue living the dream is to live its message of saving souls, and to be saved is to be holy

“God wants us to be holy.”

The chosen thrust of Fr. Edwin “Elu” L. Ulanday, our school rector, for this school year.

Holiness often seems like a grandiose and unattainable ideal, beyond the reach of ordinary lives. However, Fr. Elu breaks it down into a digestible and practical piece for Bosconians: Be the best of what God wants you to be. You are a student? Do your best in participating during discussions You play football? Do your best in dribbling and shooting the ball toward the goal You are a music ministry member? Do your best in singing your heart out and sending God’s love and message through your voice You are a Salesian educator? Do your best in supporting and guiding your students academically, personally, and spiritually Doing our best happily in everything we do brings us closer to God, to holiness

As the father and a Father of the Salesian community, Fr Elu hopes to see harmonious relationships in the community, to see cheerful givers as God wants a cheerful giver: teachers who are joyful teaching the Bosconians; Bosconians who are delighted cooperating with their teachers; and Lay Mission Partners who are pleased to provide assistance and service to everyone in the community To see these through the end of the school year would be a triumph and realization of this year’s thrust

Continuously living Don Bosco’s dream at 9 which revealed his divine mission to transform wolves into lambs, shaping and guiding troubled youth All while for Fr Elu, the aspiration to see the next Filipino saint coming from Don Bosco Tarlac is a dream, a dream not far beyond the reach with and through these guiding thrusts. Doing your best with joy is not far beyond the reach of ordinary lives, so does becoming holy.

DB Cresendo: GEARING UP THRU STATE-OF-THE ART FACILIT

Maneuvered with its mission, Don Bosco Tarlac has taken an exemplary milestone in promoting an educative pastoral community for learners to become good Christians and upright citizens with its noteworthy accord of endowing Cresendo Campus, situated at Brgy. Central Tarlac City, which has been envisioned to be the breeding ground for future servant-leaders

On September 10, Don Bosco Tarlac unveiled Cresendo Campus through a ribbon cutting ceremony and blessing of facilities which marked a history to the DBTI community. But what to expect with the new campus?

Upon entering, the pulsating spirit of enthusiasm radiating from the courtyard is intoxicating as Bosconians’ laughter echoed on the four corners of the building: bringing up a vibrant mood Adjacent to the courtyard are the offices where transactions are done, followed by the school canteen which is the go-to place for Bosconians during break times Aside from that, there is also a clinic which is the school’s frontliner whenever students need to be treated, and a school library where Bosconians may use for their schoolworks

“In the campus, [the] library is my favorite because I can read books and study my lessons, or do schoolwork,” said Antonia Chiu, a grade 11 Bosconian reiterating the area she loves in the campus

As you move along the second and third floors, top-quality facilities can be found such as two computer laboratories with an internet connection, alongside two science laboratories available to be used for pedagogical instruction

One key feature of Cresendo Campus is its embodiment of a conducive learning environment with its state-of-the-art classrooms from the second up to the third floor, fully geared with equipment for teaching-learning process such as Smart Televisions, and speakers in which one is utilized for the Public Address (PA) System that enables announcements to be disseminated one at a time

“My favorite area in the Cresendo Campus are the classrooms; it’s very spacious, very cold,” shared by Eison Jan Cutero, a grade 11 Bosconian. He also mentioned that their classroom is where he makes the most memories with his classmates which makes it his preferred area

Furthermore, to ensure the safety of students and staff, CCTVs are installed in the whole campus, even inside the classrooms to monitor every class which in turn can avoid unnecessary events to take place.

Despite the backlash thrown on the induction of the Cresendo Campus, it is indubitable that one of its vital facets is its high-quality facilities which are envisaged to be accomplished for the upcoming years, fulfilling its goal to be the training ground for future servantleaders

Historically, family meant the smallest unit in society: parents and their children However, as society progresses, definitions have expanded to include blended families, chosen families, and even communities that function as family Don Bosco Tarlac

At the heart of this evolution lies the community of Don Bosco Tarlac, where the spirit of family thrives, transforming former Bosconians into dedicated Salesians

From Bosconians to Salesians

On July 20 and August 30, Don Bosco Tarlac welcomed two familiar faces: Salesian Brothers Cyrill Jess Lumibao and Benjo Ian Mangila Both brothers, originally from Tarlac,

were once Bosconians and now embody the values they learned as students Their journey from being Don Bosco Youth Center (DBYC) scholars to Salesians reflects the family spirit that characterizes this community

Both brothers recall their time at Don Bosco Tarlac from 2011 to 2015 as a formative experience, filled with support from the Salesian family They describe their stay as festive and holy, highlighting the strong sense of community that permeated their lives as Bosconians “What we love most about the Don Bosco Tarlac community is that it embodies the traits of St John Bosco Father, Teacher, and Friend to Youth,” they assert

This mission of holistic education continues to resonate deeply, as Don Bosco schools strive to help the poor become good Christians and upright citizens

Their own journeys as DBYC scholars serve as testaments to this mission, and now, as Salesians, they are dedicated to serving the youth of their alma mater

“Proud Bosconians kami, especially from Don Bosco Tarlac,” they proudly declare, their eyes shining with conviction and happiness Their transformation from Bosconians to Salesians reflects the profound impact that the family spirit of Don Bosco Tarlac has had on their lives

The Bonds of Family Spirit

Bro Benjo emphasizes the extraordinary relationships within the Don Bosco community, where Lay Mission Partners, Salesians, and Bosconians treat one another as family and friends

This bond was particularly evident during a recent personal sorrow for Brother Jess, whose father passed away During this difficult time, he felt an outpouring of love, support, and compassion from the entire Salesian community

“Even when my father was sick, the Salesian community, LaMPs, and Bosconians were there to pray and sympathize,” Bro Jess shares “The family spirit is what inspires many Bosconians to aspire to enter the seminary and share this sense of belonging ”

A New Definition of Family

The homecoming of Brothers Jess and Benjo serves as a powerful reminder that family is no longer just the smallest unit; it is an expansive connection of support, love, and shared purpose. At Don Bosco Tarlac, this family spirit fosters an environment where Bosconians not only learn but also grow into compassionate individuals ready to serve others.

As the community embraces these returning Salesians, it reinforces the idea that family spirit is not confined to blood relations but can flourish within a community dedicated to nurturing its members. In celebrating the homecoming of these Bosconians turned Salesians, Don Bosco Tarlac showcases the impact of family spirit a legacy that continues to inspire future generations to join this remarkable family and community.
