TARLAC CITY, PHILIPPINES – Don Bosco Tarlac, in a commendable initiative of community spirit and dedication to humanitarian causes, has successfully hosted a series of blood donation drives over the past year. These events, organized in collaboration with the Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupils Association (DBTPPA) and the Philippine Red Cross - Tarlac Chapter, have made a significant impact on the local healthcare system.
The series began with a highly successful blood drive on October 7, 2023, held on the school grounds The event saw an impressive turnout of students, alumni, teachers, and local residents, all eager to contribute to the impactful cause. Mr. Norman Manzano from the Red Cross expressed his gratitude, highlighting the life-saving potential of the collected blood Engr Mico David, President of the DBTPPA, emphasized the alignment of the event with Don Bosco Tarlac's values of compassion and community service.
Continuing the momentum, the second blood drive took place during the feast of St John Bosco on January 31, 2024 This event further reinforced the school's commitment to service and community engagement.
On May 24, 2024, Don Bosco Tarlac hosted another successful blood donation drive, dubbed "Dugong Busko." This event, held at the DBYC Building, saw 65 donors and 11 student volunteers, with the efforts of Mr Angelo Paulo M Legaspi, Club Animator The combined efforts of the DBTPPA and the Red Cross Tarlac City ensured the event's success, further cementing the school's dedication to saving lives.
The most recent drive took place on October 18, 2024, with participation from Lay Mission Partners, parents, alumni, and students

Although the drive fell short of the 100-bag targe nearly 70 bags were collected, a number deem sufficient to save lives Angelo Legaspi, animator the Red Cross Youth Council, commended the effo despite the shortfall, emphasizing the life-savin impact of the donations.
These blood drives not only provided critic resources to the healthcare system but also fostered sense of unity and shared responsibility within t community. DB Tarlac Receives Award for Outstanding Blood Donation Initiatives
Don Bosco Tarlac, through the Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupils Association (DBTPPA), was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation at the 2nd Central Luzon Kadugo Recognition Ceremony of the Philippine National Red Cross Represented by President Engr Mico David and Batch Representative Roger Aquino, the award was presented in grateful acknowledgment of their exemplary service in promoting blood donation
Held on November 13, 2024, at Royce Hotel & Casino in Clark, Pampanga, the ceremony highlighted Don Bosco Tarlac's significant contribution to the Red Cross's mission over the past year, with a commendable collection of at least 100 units of blood This achievement marked the dedication and hard work of the Don Bosco community in ensuring a safe and adequate blood supply for those in need
"Don Bosco Tarlac's efforts have truly advanced our mission to save lives," remarked Mr. Norman Manzano from the Red Cross Tarlac Chapter. "Their unwavering commitment and impactful contributions embody the core values of the Red Cross, and we are deeply grateful for their support "

As the clock ticks closer to January 11, 2025, Don Bosco Tarlac Batch 2000, the Silver Jubilarians, are in the spotlight as they take on the monumental task of hosting this year’s Grand Alumni Homecoming
The event promises to be a celebration of unity, nostalgia, and progress, marking 25 years since the batch graduated from the hallowed halls of Don Bosco Tarlac
The journey from planning to execution has been a testament to the enduring camaraderie of Batch 2000, as they rally together to make this milestone event truly unforgettable
Reuniting EveryJuan to Where It All Began
At the heart of this year’s homecoming is the theme: “Reuniting everyJuan to where it all began ” The theme encapsulates the essence of reconnecting with one’s roots and rekindling bonds formed during high school days
Inspired by their shared journey as students, the core team spent countless hours brainstorming to craft a theme that resonates with alumni from all generations
The preparation period has been a whirlwind of meetings, creative sessions, and meticulous planning From choosing the menu to deciding on the number of tables, every detail has been thoughtfully deliberated Selecting guest artists, bands, and hosts to match the event’s spirit has been another focal point, ensuring a seamless and entertaining program flow
Fundraising for a Cause
Organizing an event of this magnitude requires substantial funding, and Batch 2000 rose to the occasion with innovative fundraising initiatives. Among the activities were:
Raffle Ticket Sales – Offering exciting prizes to engage participants and encourage widespread participation.
Concerts – Hosting vibrant performances featuring local talents, drawing crowds and fostering community spirit.
Sponsorship Campaigns – Reaching out to businesses and benefactors to support the event while showcasing their brands

The representatives of the Batch 2000, led by Mr Clifford Baluyut, Mr. Kelvin Que, and Mr. Joseph Allen Garido, paid a courtesy visit to the Rector of Don Bosco Tarlac, Fr Edwin L Ulanday, SDB During their visit, they presented a heartfelt proposal for their batch project in celebration of their silver anniversary this January 2025 This milestone event marks two decades of unwavering loyalty and service to their alma mater.
Batch 1968: Rekindling Old Memories Officers and representatives of the Batch 1968, led by Mr. Angel E. Briones, also visited Fr. Edwin L. Ulanday, SDB Accompanied by Don Bosco Tarlac Past Pupils Association VP Ric Castañeda and school Alumni Coordinator Ryan Gonzales, the batch reminisced about their cherished days as Bosconians, reaffirming the bonds forged decades ago
Mass Sponsorships
November 24, 2024: The Class of 1984 and their families sponsored a holy mass in celebration of the Feast of Christ the King. This solemn event honored Jesus Christ as the ruler of all creation, embodying the spirit of gratitude and faith that defines the Bosconian community.
On the same day, the Class of 2003 sponsored the afternoon mass and extended their generosity by sponsoring two DBYC scholars. Their actions inspired young alumni to emulate the teachings of St John Bosco through selflessness and service
December 29, 2024: The Class of 1990 sponsored the 8 AM mass, celebrated by Fr Joel Camaya, SDB, an alumnus of the Class of 1989 This mass was a testament to their enduring faith and commitment to Don Bosco’s mission

January 13, 2024: The Class of 2007 conducted a feeding program at Amor Village in Anao, Tarlac, exemplifying their commitment to uplifting the less fortunate.
May 30, 2024: The Class of 1979 collaborated with the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Nuestra Señora de la Merced to organize a feeding program at the Tanpoco Covered Court in Brgy Matatalaib, Tarlac City
June 4, 2024: The Class of 1983 partnered with Talon General Hospital and other organizations for another feeding program at Amor Village, bringing smiles to the community
July 26, 2024: The Class of 1990 repainted their batch project, basketball courts they originally donated in 2015 Their efforts to maintain this facility showcase their pride and dedication to the school.
July 27, 2024: The Class of 1984 spearheaded a Brigada Eskuwela initiative in Victoria, providing much-needed support to the local community.
December 7, 2024: The Class of 1979 conducted an outreach program at the Sto Cristo Parish, while the Class of 2000 organized a Medical and Dental Mission at Brgy Sto Cristo Gymnasium Special thanks to Dr Dm de Guzman, Dr Jon Navarro Jr., Dr. Garingo HS, and batchmates like Dondon Cunanan and Arvin Zabala, who made the event possible This mission set the tone for the much-awaited Don Bosco Grand Alumni Homecoming 2025. December 22, 2024: The Class of 1992 extended their care to the Warriors of Tarlac, children with disabilities, exemplifying the true spirit of compassion.
