A NOTE FROM LYNSEY ALLAN
DIRECTOR OF SPORT
As we settle into Term 1, I’m delighted
to share another round of sporting
news and achievements from across
Dollar Academy. October has been an
exciting month, with pupils continuing
to demonstrate their talent across a
wide range of activities.
In this edition, you’ll find updates on
new Judo lessons, recent pupil
successes, and details of upcoming
events to look forward to.
As always, if you have any sporting
stories or achievements to share,
please don’t hesitate to get in touch at
sportsnews@dollaracademy.org.uk.

JUDO, MORE THAN SPORT!
Judo extends beyond its role as a sport, encompassing a rich tradition, a moral code and a philosophy of personal development. It's more than just a physical activity; it's a way of life that fosters self-control, discipline and respect, both on and off the mat.
Our Judo coach is Alberto Borin. He is a former professional athlete, who has represented Italy, as well as previously serving as Head Coach of the
U18 Swiss National Team. He is currently the High Performance Coach at JudoScotland.
Sessions are open to pupils aged 5-18, who are separated into different
age-groups. Pupils in the Prep and Junior School focus on core skills, while
Senior School pupils work towards advanced competition-level Judo.
Session cost: £8
