Dollar Academy is delighted to partner with Gleneagles to offer an exceptional Golf Programme, which caters for complete beginners through to elite players. This collaboration, between two renowned Scottish institutions, allows pupils at the school to experience world class golf coaching at Gleneagles, coupled with an outstanding education. Given our commitment to golf, scholarship funding is available to support boarding pupils who demonstrate strong golfing ability. Golf scholarship candidates will be required to provide proof of handicap and meet with the coaching team for assessment.

GOLF AT GLENEAGLES
Home to 54 holes of championship golf, the iconic nine-hole Wee Course and the renowned PGA National Golf Academy, Gleneagles is one of the most celebrated venues in world golf. It has proudly hosted some of the game’s most prestigious events, including the Ryder Cup, the Solheim Cup and the ISPS HANDA Senior Open (2024 and 2026).

Students on the Dollar Academy Golf Programme benefit from unparalleled access to the PGA National Golf Academy at Gleneagles, where worldclass facilities meet elite coaching expertise. Delivered by leading PGA professionals, the programme provides highly personalised coaching tailored to each player’s ambitions and performance goals.
Cutting-edge technology underpins player development. Indoor training bays and advanced performance tools including TrackMan, Toptracer and Capto deliver precise, objective feedback - from full swing mechanics to putting performance.
Built on a high-performance philosophy, the PGA Academy mirrors the standards of leading international training environments. It combines technical excellence, competitive exposure and holistic athlete development to nurture talented young golfers and prepare them for success at the highest levels.
THE PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
The Dollar Academy Golf Programme at Gleneagles consists of three clearly defined tiers, all delivered by PGA Academy professionals:
HIGH PERFORMANCE TIER
The High Performance tier represents the pinnacle of the programme, designed for elite amateur and aspiring professional golfers with a handicap of below 5. Performance tier players operate within a truly highperformance environment.
Training is fully individualised, with a strong emphasis on strategy, mental performance, tournament preparation and delivering results under pressure. Detailed TrackMan and Strokes Gained analysis drives performance planning, supported by expert coaching and long-term athlete development. A fully integrated Strength & Conditioning programme enhances power, movement efficiency, resilience and injury prevention.
This tier provides a clear pathway towards university scholarships, elite amateur competition and progression into professional golf.
18th PGA
PERFORMANCE TIER
Designed for golfers with a handicap of 12 or below, the Performance tier focuses on sharpening competitive performance and developing advanced scoring skills.
Players refine putting, wedge play, distance control and course management, while structured practice and regular on-course coaching create pressure-based learning environments. TrackMan and Strokes Gained data guide targeted improvement, while players develop consistent routines and preparation habits. A structured Strength & Conditioning programme supports athletic development and long-term progression.
9th Queens
DEVELOPMENT TIER
The Development tier supports higher handicap golfers in building consistency and translating technical skills into reliable on-course performance.
Emphasis is placed on improving ball striking, short game control and course awareness. Structured 9-hole coaching sessions develop decision-making and scoring strategy, while Toptracer data tracks measurable progress in distance control, dispersion and shot consistency. Regular reviews and coach feedback ensure clear, sustained improvement.

GOLF AT DOLLAR ACADEMY
Alongside access to Gleneagles and the PGA facilities - located 20 minutes from the school campus - golfers benefit from outstanding on-site facilities at Dollar, including four driving bays, an indoor simulator and a 9-hole course on the edge of the School Campus.
The school also features a swimming pool, fitness suite and dedicated Strength & Conditioning gym, supporting complete athletic development. Pupils may also work with a recommended sports psychologist, ensuring a fully rounded performance support network.
Golfers additionally enjoy membership at Muckhart Golf Club, home to three 9-hole heathland courses just five minutes from Dollar. Four Open Championship venues - St Andrews, Carnoustie Golf Links, Muirfield and Royal Troon Golf Club - are all within an hour’s reach.
Students at Dollar also benefit from international tours and training experiences, with recent trips to the United States, Canada, Dubai and a winter training camp in Spain.
