
SEMESTER 1 - AROUND THE GROUNDS

AswelaunchintoSemesterTwo,it’stheperfecttimetoreflectonthesportinghighlightsfrom aroundthegrounds.
Following an outstanding showing at the recent ICCES Athletics Carnival, our Braemar athletes continued to rise to the challenges ahead First up was Cross Country both at the ICCES level and at School Sport Victoria level for our Year 5 and 6 athletes. All students acquitted themselves admirably, with four Middle School students progressing to the State Championships. The College also participated in the Schools Orienteering Championships, placing second overall Several students have since been selected to compete at the state level.
In more traditional winter sports, our Middle School AFL 9s teams took to the fields at the WoodendCampus.Thedaywasasuccess,withtheBoysteamprogressingtothenextround of competition On the netball court, four teams from Years 5 and 6 represented the College withdetermination,withtheGirlsteamtakingoutthetophonoursfortheday.
Finally, three busloads of Years 7–12 students headed to the Shepparton Sports Precinct for the ICCES Winter Tour Braemar teams competed strongly across Hockey, Netball, Basketball, and Soccer. On the day, the Open Girls, Junior Girls, and Senior Boys Soccer teams all emergedvictorious,withmanyofourteamsplayinginfinals
