Lieutenant Governor's Letter SERENA ZHANG

What’s splashing goldfishies!

It’s your Lieutenant Governor Serena Zhang! Summer is ending, and it’s already back to school season! I hope you had a GREAT August!

We had a great DCM in July where we created bird feeders out of recycled plastic bottles.

Everyone’s creations were so pretty, so thank you so much if you attended this event! As club rush is coming up, I hope all of you will continue to stay in Key Club and be goldfishies in D04E!

Please encourage your friends to join so that we can increase membership and have even more goldfishies join us!

I hope to see more of you in person at DCMs or region events! Stay strong as the school year begins! I believe in you!

Swimming into Service,

Serena Zhang

Division News Editor's Letter

What is in the current, goldfishes?

It is your Division News Editor Julianna, back with a new edition of The Fishy Tails! Do we love the new name?

Is it not crazy that school is starting? It felt like we started summer - I am so excited!

Thank you so much for attending the July DCM! It was so fun to make bird feeders with everyone else. Everyone’s creations were so pretty!

With club rush approaching, I hope everyone reading this can invite some of their friends to join and become a goldfish as well.

Can’t wait to see our family grow even further! See you at the next key club event!

Swimming into Service,

Julianna Hsu

Division 04 East had its July DCM on July 6th in Peralta Canyon Park.

We had around 13 members show up from 6 different schools!

It was a super fun event with a service project where we made bird feeders from recycled plastic bottles.

Then, everyone’s artistic side came out during the painting and decorating.

The theme of this DCM was "Clean Crafts!" inspired by the CNH District

SOSP (Spotlight on Service Program) which has the monthly focus of "BEE Clean, CNH!"

Thank you to all those who attended the DCM! I hope you can come to more!

Kiwanis Meeting

Foothill High School

Participating in the Kiwanis meeting can be encapsulated in one word: insightful. We believe it’s important to attain a professional and active relationship with our foundation, and are eager to bond with the Kiwanis even more this term.

At the gathering, we were able to exchange our goals, future events, and our general status of the club. The Kiwanis made us feel supported and included in their conversations, making this experience very successful and engaging.

The Concerts in the Park were a series of 5 events from early July to early August. These volunteer events were honestly the most fun I have ever had doing volunteering. During our shift, we listened to the music from the concert and had a great time serving the customers.

We made burgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, and many more things. My favorite part was giving out the small free plushies to the children and seeing their faces light up.

Working the stands got a little stressful when there was a rush of people, but the adults made sure we took breaks and ate food. We were given free drinks and a delicious meal!

Concerts in the Park

Everybody had fun at the events, we were able to listen to the music from the concert under the shade of the canopy. The concert had great music and many people were dancing and having fun.

The atmosphere was bubbly and lively, it was warm but not too warm. Everybody had a good time and by the end of it, we were all chatting and talking about the next concert we would volunteer at.

Angel backpack giveaway

We went to the Angels Stadium to give out school supplies, backpacks, shoes, jackets, socks, shirts, and even more! This event was a huge success for everyone and truly a lot of fun! We went on the dirt and dugout in the stadium which was the first time for a lot of us. It was an amazing time volunteering at the Angels Stadium. We were even shown on the big screen volunteering which has to be the coolest part. We all hope that we will be able to volunteer at the Angels Stadium again!

The July DCM was very fun and productive! It was a great opportunity to meet most of the new Division Leadership Team as well as members from other schools in our division.

We ended up making lots of bird feeders together, having a good time painting them and having snacks too.
